David Neeleman’s Breeze Airways will be growing rapidly in the coming years. The JetBlue founder started with E-190 jets and will have a fleet of 15 A220s by the end of this year. That will grow to 80 A220s over 6 years. His goal is to connect cities and routes that other airlines have overlooked while offering industry leading customer service and friendliness in the skies.

Breeze flights can be cancelled up to 15 minutes before departure at no charge, with the funds valid for 2 years.
The A220s will include 36 premium cabin seats, called “Nicest” seating, in a two-by-two configuration at the front of the plane. It will also have 10 “Nicer” extra legroom seats and 80 “nice” seats in a two-by-three seat configuration. First class seats will feature a whopping 39″ of seat pitch and 20.5″ wide seats and a footrest.

The A220s have in-seat AC and USB power, but unfortunately won’t have WiFi this summer. Speedy Viasat Ka-band WiFi will be installed on the A220s starting in October.

Dan, we get that you’re excited about this and hopefully this will be big.
But: A. His routes are terrible for most people here. B. Main point: I thought as a policy you don’t post spirit flights etc, because if a flight is cancelled you have nothing to do as they don’t work with other airlines. This is exactly the same.
And btw many people will tell you they only had good experience with spirit too, so the fact that some people will like this airline is irrelevant
A. They are growing. Southwest, Spirit, and Frontier also didn’t serve NYC and MIA at first if that’s what you’re looking for.
B. No, that’s one of many, many reasons I don’t cover Spirit/Frontier. If that were the only reason, I also wouldn’t cover JetBlue, Southwest, or American.
Spirit/Frontier have super unfriendly policies, from bag fees to change fees to legroom. Meanwhile Breeze has a coach and first class that looks better than any of the major carriers, at a fraction of their cost. They will be a game changer for the entire industry when they scale.

Nothing out of JFK/LGA/EWR. Nothing out of MIA. A total waste of time for a majority of the flying population. Just another Tower Air/People’s Express/Frontier/Spirit in the making. We’ve basically got Delta and American as our only normal, non abusive, options.
