Air Canada Aeroplan Adds 2 More Partner Airlines With Award Redemptions

Air Canada Aeroplan has been very active in adding partner airlines that have reciprocal award redemption options.

Today they added Air Mauritius and Oman Air to their extensive partner list, which includes non-Star Alliance airlines like Air Serbia, Azul, Canadian North, Cathay Pacific, Etihad, Eurowings, GOL, Gulf Air, Virgin Australia, Vistara, and more. Air Canada has added 10 partner airlines since last June and they say that they will be announcing more partner airlines in the coming months.

Oman Air flights are eligible for redemption in First class private suites, Apex Business class suites, and Economy. Air Mauritius flights are eligible for redemption in Business and Economy.

Oman Air and Air Mauritius only fly in the Eastern Hemisphere, but you can combine awards with other airlines.

Award rates follow Aeroplan’s award chart pricing.

For example:

• A round-trip Air Mauritius A350 flight from Johannesburg to Mauritius costs $600 in coach or $1,100 in business class, but can be booked for 25K miles in coach or 50K miles in business class.
• A round-trip Air Mauritius A350 flight from Paris to Mauritius costs $900 in coach or $5,000 in business class, but can be booked for 71K miles in coach or 120K miles in business class.
• A round-trip Oman Air 787-9 flight from London to Mauritius costs $1,100 in coach,  $4,600 in business class, or $8,000 in first class, but can be booked for 50K miles in coach or 90K miles in business class, or 130K miles in first class.
