Using my card directly would cost $750 + ($750 x 1.96%) = $764.70
Purchasing these at a discount and using them costs $730.35 + ($750 x 1.96%) = $745.05. I prefer the latter.

Yes, I was able to make two payments of $250 each toward federal estimated tax paying the debit card fee of $2.55 and $2.00 (two different services because the first would not accept a second payment). Two payments per quarter is the maximum allowed by IRS. This saved me a few bucks, but, mostly it was a way to meet a minimum spending requirement.
I have good news and bad news. The good news is that these are probably treated as debit so you’ll pat a flat $2.20 or $2.50 per card depending on the service provider. The bad news is that you can only make two payments (per quarter, if this is estimated tax) per provider. I don’t think it’s worth it with $100 gift cards (I’ve only done it with $500’s), but your opinion may differ.

For a net of around 3% not worthwhile unless you have to meet a spend on a card. Staples no fee Visa with 5x points is a better deal
3% is in addition to your credit card rewards (2.5%?) so that’s >5% in rewards in cash. Points can sit unused for a while, and a lot of people I know redeem for 1.25 cents for travel rewards.
But don’t forget shopping portal points, which with the current bonuses can net you over 10% in a mix of cash back and miles.

Facts is the tuition system the school uses and they charged me 2.95% credit card fee but with the discount I got on there it only cost me like $3 and change to pay close to 1,500 in tuition and I get point and I used a new card that I need to reach spending level for to get the sign on bonus

I bought $1,500 on Sunday morning and it’s still showing that I bought $1,500 today. It’s a seriously glitchy website. (Has me worried how good their security could be.)
Has anyone figured out how their limit system works? Is it per account, name, address, IP, card? I tried a couple of different variations on those options and none seemed to work.
As for how to use them – if all else fails, Square’s fees if you use their invoice system (2.9% + $0.30) come out to be almost exactly the same as the discount. You get back $1,454.70 net after fees vs. $1,460.70 to buy them. You are basically paying $6 to get between $14.61 and $51.12 in cash back (depending on the card used). I figure it shouldn’t be such a major risk because you are not directly charging your own cards. (But maybe I’m naive.)
For example, I used the AMEX Blue Bus Cash (trying to hit my $15K spend to get a 75K MR signup bonus), so I am getting back 2,921 MR for $6 net spend. (Plus my time, of course.) Deposited back into my bank the next day, so I am also theoretically getting 1-2 months of free financing/interest to boot.

For what reason in the world should I pay $605 for $600 worth of “e-gift cards”? No discount. Maybe to meet cc opening bonus threshold or to combine it with % back with shop through Capital One (which works when you buy these gift cards). Their previous deals were better.
Besides for meeting SUB’s I’m not sure the benefit of doing this is.. If I buy something for $100 with these gift cards. Why not just use your credit card to buy that something? And avoid wasting time + the $5 fee per $600?

For anyone reading the comments, the May ones were for an offer that essentially had you paying $605 for $600 worth of GC’s, which only made sense if you specifically needed GC’s for something (e.g. teacher gifts – although I prefer cash) or wanted to hit a CC spend requirement.
Today’s offer ($575 for $600) makes sense on its own.

“The promo code you entered has already been redeemed.” This is on my second attempt. First went through but chase cancelled due to fraud alert so I notified Chase it’s me. Now waiting for giftcards.com to reply back to me abut reattempting that order. If it makes any difference I’m using a Sapphire Preferred trying to meet the spending requirements.
So that was interesting. Put through an order for $300, and my credit card was rejected and Chase put a fraud alert on the account. Called Chase, they lifted the fraud alert and processed the transaction and it was immediately reversed by Giftcards.com claiming it didn’t pass their screening process (“Your order was cancelled. Let’s fix that!”) I gave up.
2 orders cancelled “because it didn’t pass our screening process”, and I cant even try again because it says I used the promo code already…
Make sure you use it within 1 year , they charge $4.95 monthly fees if not used for 1 year. I had to call them and reverse the fees after see that balance was gone.
