Huge follower here. I was in the building but luckily made it out safe. Thanks for this.

Dan

Wow, glad to hear that you’re OK!
Can you share any perspective on what happened and how people are doing?

It has been madness. I am traveling with my wife and 2 older kids. We are all fine but we are all trying to find alternatives for shelter. The Red Cross has made arrangements for us at a Residence Inn by Marriott. I am not sure how we can fly back to NY because 2 of our ID’s were left behind. The car rental is under the rubble but we have been working with National through the process. We hope as time passes more things become clear. Thanks for the support on this board.

You can fly without an ID — takes longer for verification and you will undergo extensive screening, but doable.

so glad you and your family are ok!!!!

Dan

Wow! A miracle that you’re alive! Thanks for sharing that.

Bring any documentation or pictures of documentation that you might have and you should be able to get onto the flight.

I’ve flown without ID, and so did one of my relatives. Shouldn’t be a problem domestically. They’ll pull you aside at TSA and ask a set of random questions (the cross streets of your home, identify a neighbors name among random names etc) and they’ll clear you to fly. Just not sure if the airline would allow you to check baggage without ID. But TSA definitely has the authority to grant exceptions after an extra verification.

Just a quick update…
Jetblue has been completely TERRIBLE thru the experience. They have been unwilling to change our flights to get home today or tomorrow. And told me the only thing I can do is cancel and rebook at the current fare. That came from the initial agent and manager (Jonathan) who refused to give me a last name. I also had to wait on hold 4 hrs to be told this.

For those of you who donā€™t know – Surfside has a very large Jewish community. Likely that many of the missing folks are Jews

We have truly not had a moment to breathe without tragedy in too long. Hashem Yishmor. May this be the last of all.

Hopefully, the collected funds will be disbursed as needed.

I believe one name is incorrect and should be switched from Yehuda Aryeh to Aryeh Leib

ish chai

meaning the sixt to the last ”Yehuda arte ben feiga rivka”, Arte should be Aryeh
