Is anyone using this for Shabbos? Can it be configured to supply ice for Shabbos lunch?
I have a similar model, love it.
But can’t be used on shabbos, opening the door sets off a sensor. I freeze it in a ziploc for shabbos if I want some.

Ya, slightly. Takes longer to get soft again.
From what I’ve read ice an be kept in the freezer for years with no decline in quality
