Israel has extended its ban on foreign nationals through at least 8:59pm on November 1st according to this NOTAM:
Israel closed their borders to foreign nationals back in March and they have extended the ban on a monthly basis since then.
There are some exceptions to the rule, including:
- Parents, grandparents, siblings, spouses of siblings, as well as sibling’s infant children can go to Israel for a wedding, bar mitzvah, or bas mitzvah.
- Grandparents can fly to Israel a month before an expected birth and can stay a month after birth.
- Students applying through their qualified institution. (This exception is currently on hold and new student entry permits are not currently being issued)
However the country has entered a new lockdown and Israelis can no longer purchase flights out of the country.
Returning Israelis and foreigners who qualify for an exception to enter Israel must continue to go into home quarantine for 14 days unless they have only been to designated green countries in the past 14 days.
Back in June, some 48% of DansDeals poll respondents thought Israel would reopen by October and 68% of respondents thought Israel would reopen in 2020. That seems like wishful thinking at this point.

This is just stupidity
There killing there economy for over 6 months already
They should just say that they’re going to lockdown till there’s a vaccine bc everytime they open even a little there’s going to be corona cases and all there doing is pushing off the inevitable

America is never going to get this under control without a vaccine. Other countries have managed but its just not going to happen here.
Realistically I expect a vaccine to be generally available by Q2 2021. Then it needs to be administered to everyone (good luck with that) and then the infection needs to subside before any sane country starts letting Americans back in.
Q4 2021 is a reasonable guess.
I’m very curious what countries you are referring to, as far as I am aware of there aren’t any, and there is not any logical way to control this virus without a vaccine or herd immunity
nowhere got it completely under control, but in places like new zealand its not running rampant like here
What are the rules for married students who have been living there as a A2 for a number of years now and just came home for Yom Tov? Can they return?
I am on the same page as you. Pls advise if you find out what an be done..
Is your wife israeli?
From what I understand after checking with the Israeli Consulate, if your “center of life” is in Israel (ie: A2 visa + live there most of the year), you are allowed to come back. Get in touch with your closest Israeli Consulate.
Its a chutzpa that Israelis can enter the us without quarantine and us citizen can’t enter Israel even with quarantine
Everyone is relying on the vaccine to redeem us. But what I don’t get is how can people belittle antibodies by saying that you can still get the virus again, yet those same people are waiting for the vaccine. A vaccine is simply giving your body antibodies. And if you believe that the virus can strike twice, then you might as well stay home your entire life because vaccines are not guaranteed.
I agree with you that we should just move on with life even before vaccine comes out, but you understanding of this vaccine is not correct, this will be different then any other vaccine out there, usually they inject you with dead virus cells, here they are playing with the DNA, to trick your body into believing it has antibodies…
As a health professional, please allow me to add my two cents.
It seems that your understanding of this vaccine is faulty. There is no plan to trick the body into thinking it has antibodies.
Slightly off topic but even though there are a few reports of a person getting the virus a second time I have yet to see a report of someone who died from the second time getting the virus. So at least for those who had it I’d venture to say that they are not at risk of severe harm from it.
It’s also quite clear that the initial guidance from rabbis in orthodox communities made orthodox communities among the highest if not THE highest death rate per capita in the world. According to New York the numbers are once again climbing . It seems that those who were not susceptible to the March strain are now susceptible to the new strain. It’s a misnomer to say that the USA as a whole had such a high death rate. Multiple states now have many more cases than ny yet no state has approached HALF the death rate of ny. Cuomo also has the blood about 6k deaths at least on his hands
Fake news: Most of those deaths we had in the first wave were from infections that happened or spread BEFORE the government issued it’s quarantine and social distancing rules. By Purim the virus was spread out across most of the community. At that time public schools were still open. The distancing guidelines weren’t issued until a week later.
Also there was NO “initial guidance from rabbis” telling people not to quarantine.
Life only went back to normal until after we reached a certain resemblance of heard immunity. Proof is that from June until August, with no social distancing – there were ZERO new cases.
Dan, are you a pilot – Reading NOTAM’s, or just took a couple of flight lessons (with T&G?)?
Who’s bringing In my American meat for sukkos
It’s the end of September, the country is under “total” lockdown with no promised end date, and no entry to students. They do promise that the opening will be gradual.
The infection rate is going up both in israel and in major communities in the US.
And half the voters think that Israel will open its borders wide with in the next 6 months?
so remind me how is the lockdown working
Is this lockdown still in effect?
Can I travel to israel for a nephew bris ?( my brother had a boy )
If yes , what are the guidelines?
Thanks
