You’re right that your analogy isn’t different, but your comment misses the point and the last line of your comment is fundamentally different from what JJ said. Good writing would be something like “the gift card can even be used to cover shipping.” The way JJ wrote it is misleading and implies the gift card, which this website processes same as a promo code, also included promotional free shipping or that there are items that include free shipping, as evinced by the first few comments on the thread wondering why shipping wasn’t free. It was either lazy writing, clickbaiting. I suspect the latter but will concede the former.
