Turkish has an award winning Star Alliance lounge in Istanbul. They normally operate a whopping 10 flights a day between Istanbul and Tel Aviv. There are even 2 Synagogues in Istanbul’s airport!
- Turkish offers freshly made kosher meals from Istanbul and Tel Aviv in all classes and the meals for flights departing Istanbul are highly regarded as well. They are made in Turkey and are kosher supervised by the OK and Chabad of Turkey.
If you need to get a flight back to NYC or Tel Aviv, Turkish is one of the few airlines still flying that is offering reasonable prices for tickets.
Note that if the US bans foreigners from Turkey or if demand drops that flights may be cancelled.

Think it will be canceled?
Debating one of the chartered flights and wondering what the chances are that this will depart and arrive
Chartered are 1600-1900 for 1 way!
In normal times these fares would be amazing for Pesach in Israel. Sweet dreams .
I wonder if people filed with the NY attorney generals office for price gauging during the epidemic as 1900 for a 1 way ticket seems super high but I guess chartering a plane is probably expensive and also even airlines often charge more for a 1 way ticket than for a roundtrip.
How about the travel agent holding tickets on other flights to drive prices up?
i just sent someone today to MIA for $930. chaval
My son flew Turkish from TLV to JFK yesterday. Flight went off without a hitch BH
Much fewer than ten flights per day between IST and TLV. Check what’s still operating but I believe it’s down to 3-4. When I landed in TLV a week and a half ago, several Turkish flights were marked canceled.
That’s in normal times.
Anyone scared of having their student stuck in Instanbul because US doesn’t allow flights in?
The US doesn’t cancel flights, they make bans on foreign nationals that have been to select countries.
Even if the US adds Turkey, flights would still continue for several days.
If I book a round trip and want to change return later on is that allowed?
My daughter is on a flight leaving Tel Aviv to LA via Istanbul in 10 minutes. She said everything is going smoothly. Don’t pre pay for extra bags they let her check 3 bags for no charge. $411 on way flight.
Istanbul is the nicest airport I’ve ever been to if you’re flying Business you get a suite, shower, etc.
PSA: if you need to change you Turkish Airline flight in Israel, go down to Ramat Gan office they’ll do it instantly!
When you land from a Turkish flight in the us do you need to through screening?
No.

Meals are not supervised by Chabad of Turkey.
It is an established policy of the Rebbe that Chabad doesn’t offer kosher certification (while doing everything possible to make sure Jews have kosher food to the best available standards).
The meals are supervised by Rabbi Chitrik who is the emissary to Turkey, but not in his capacity as Chabad representative! Please correct this error here and in future posts about Turkish Airlines.
