Update: This has been expanded to the entire 6 county Bay Area. The order is in place until at least April 7th.
The Mayor of San Francisco has announced that as of tomorrow, everyone will be required to stay home unless they have essential needs to go out for.
Effective at midnight, San Francisco will require people to stay home except for essential needs.
Necessary government functions & essential stores will remain open.
These steps are based on the advice of public health experts to slow the spread of #COVID19.

Other cities will likely copy and also require everyone to stay home, besides for essential needs.
A nationwide lockdown is looking more likely by the day.
It’s a brave new world out there. Stay safe everyone!

Poor Dan’s becoming a travel advisory!
Isn’t that discrimination against the SF homeless?!
It includes them w/o them having to move.
They must stay under their bridge
What are they doing about the ridiculous amount of homeless in SF???
Define “essential need”. How will this requirement be enforced? Are they going to start tracking phones and welding doors too?
What does this mean for food shopping? Are we supposed to have supplies for weeks?
Food is an essential item.
What about work?
Work from home.
order delivery
Uh… someone has to be out there to be able to do the delkveries….
Without a nationwide lockdown this country will not rid itself of Corona
disagree
how then will we get rid of it?
How?
Even with a nationwide lockdown this country will not rid itself of Corona FTFY
makes sense that one of the worst run cities in the country, were you can go to jail for handing out plastic straws becomes the first to keep the people from walking outside there own homes. instead of applying common sense we have come to this!
@dan, time to add another tab to the site. News. Or rather Real news
If it’s essential to go out and buy food, shouldn’t those that work in those groceries, deliveries, trucking, etc… be considered essential as well? Now, let’s say, understandably, the employees won’t want to come to work, so then what happens? Groceries are forced to close? No place to purchase food? Families are hungry Chaos reign’s and it’s only a matter of time before the masses start looting and rioting.
And btw, what happens AFTER the 14 day quarantine? Everyone is free to do what they please?
Do you think I’ll be able to drive 11hrs from CT to MI for Pesach?
Hey Dan thanks for keeping us informed. This has been expanded to the entire bay area now.
