Hudi

Anyone been here? How is it?

Chani

Only valid for Saturday? What’s the deal with that?

Dan

@Chani:
It’s valid every day of the week.
They have prepaid shabbos meals, those are excluded from the offer, but you can eat there on motzei shabbos with the offer.

is it A GOOD HASHGACHA???

dov

Any1 know if they carry any lubavitch shechita?

manyy

is it a good Hashgacha??

camera_dude

Great hashgacha
Meal mart and Aarons best

JS

Hashgacha is fine, food is ok, check yelp, reviews aren’t great.

ANON

Rabbi Marmorstein is not accepted by all circles as a reliable hashgacha.

Expiration date extended! Now ends Oct 17, 2012

Was there with the deal. Very limited menu, food was not that great, wine was terrible and they ask for $35 tax/tip based on “it should have cost $150”

If you want to go there forget the deal, it’s not such a good deal

yoss

probabley you have to pay the tax on the order and + tip too

camera_dude

Rabbi marmostien is accepted by rav dovid feinstein and if its good for horav dovid its good for anyone else !!!!

camera rude!

i happen to know rav dovid feinstein personally, and he never told me about that hechsher…who r u camera dude u dont even know what rav dovid looks like!

Sammy

I asked Rabbi Belsky once before eating there. He told me
Rabbi Marmorstien is very reliable.

Yoko

Went there last summer when I won Dan’s giveaway. Food was very good.

gvalt

I think you could do a lot better with $110 (including the $35 tax and tip) at la marie. Dan, thanks for taking off that not true guarantee/return policy of groupon… Bec it aint so!

A Lubavitcher

Only American Lubavitchers have sh’chita and kashrut issues. Us Lubavitchers from Israel know that if you know and respect the Rav, his meat is good, regardless of some hechsher that some poor tool paid a bundle to acquire. Same goes for eating out at people’s houses; its unheard of not to eat out at someone else’s house. (And this is coming from a native Kfar Chabadnik).
Where’s the love, Klal Yisroel??

Oh, and the food is kosher (and superb) at Talia’s. Rav Marmostein’s name is just that: a name.

camera_dude

To number 15: I HAVE BEEN LIVING IN THE LOWER EAST SIDE FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND SPEAK TO RAV DOVID AT LEAST 2 TIMES A WEEK .

L

Rav Dovid is my home boy.

Yitz

Dan, if they ask for a $35 tip this is really not a good deal and doesn’t deserve to be on your site. It makes more sense to take your money to a better place with more on the menu.

Dan

@Yitz:
People said it’s $35 for tax and tip.
Ordering $85 of food from anywhere will also cost $110 after tax and tip.

I do love Le Marais, but you aren’t getting anywhere near this amount of food for just $85+ for 2 people there.

hi

not sure why people are saying $35.00 for tax and tip.its about 45+.it is not a good deal for someone looking for a steal.
if you want WINE 2 OF EVERYTHING, it will be a good deal.

BUT if you can do with out the wine and get 1 appitizer and 2 mains, and no dessert that will deff be cheaper!!(look at there menu.they are pretty cheap for a nyc resturant.

Dan

@hi:
I guess I don’t understand people’s logic here.

If you ordered off their menu and got 2 rib-eye steaks at $36 each and the Middle-Eastern Combo appetizer for $14 you’re at $86. Plus tax and tips and you’re at about $110.

So why not also get another appetizer, 2 side dishes, 2 desserts, and a bottle of wine on top of those 2 entrees and the other appetizer all for nearly the same exact price by buying this deal?

Yaks

Anyone noticed the live music on shabbos line? I don’t know anything about the rav or the hashgacha, but I do know Halacha which deff prohibits live music on shabbos….. Unless they are referring to motzai shabbos?

Dan

It’s motzei shabbos.

Max

Been there many times, food is excellent staff is very friendly, and the owner always looks to please. I’ts a great deal!

Chaim

@Yaks: Not only don’t they play Live music on Shabbat, but their website also explicitly states that they don’t play live music during Sefirah too.

kishke

we got instead of wine, which were pretty bad, coctail drinks, for same price.
food wasnt too good, but we had nice outing too, they also took the coupon from you gladly.

Driven

Did this deal last time it was around and went with another couple who didn’t have the coupon but ordered the same meal they got twice as much food. You get what you pay for with this deal. ITS NOT WORTH IT.
