Thanks! Quite a steal. Also premium economy seems to be markedly reduced as well in many cases.
Don’t I need to charge the trip to my United card to get free bags?
Yes.
To use 15.3K Sapphire Reserve is that just a one time deal or is it an on going promotion ?
The points rate varies according to the paid rate.
If you pay with your Chase United Club Card do you also get the same benefits to bring a free carry-on, a free checked bag, and have priority boarding?
Yes. You get 2 checked bags.
what about a DELTA ticket booked with CHASE points,
but i have amex delta card to i get the free bags ?
thanks
Only United requires that you use their card.
thanks
Not if you use the chase ultimate rewards portal…
If you book using with the option of using chase ultimate Rewards points do you still get free travel/medical insurance, trip/luggage delay protection, and more!
Yes.
Thanks Dan. booked tickets to London on United with the family, (UR points) paid part of the ticket with my Chase United Explorer card to get free checked bags. does United explorer card have any travel insurance?
Don’t think that will work. I believe you need to book it directly with United using your card to get the free bags.
You do not need to book direct.
The explorer card wont help you in this case.
U anyways get 1 free checked bag, except if it’s a basic economy ticket.
You will also get priority boarding.
If I am looking to use these fares as a stop off in order to fly to Israel, which city (airport), is the easiest/ most recommended to make a connecting flight
This “Basic Economy” stuff across the Atlantic is a nuisance. No incentive for me to book such a fare on UA as a 1K because I don’t get Economy Plus or even a seat assignment. I did book a ticket on DL. With DL, I might be able to select my seat assignment at the 24-hour mark. If I need a checked bag, I can use my AMEX Delta “credit card status” and use my Platinum card to get into their lounges. Elite status sure isn’t worth much these days!
Odds are that you will get E+ at T-24 as a 1K.
Thank You! Going to Amsterdam in February for 370 a person (but really 24,000 Chase Points) RT!
Is the free bag also on international flight? The Barclay AADVANTAGE card offers free bag, but seems to offer it only on domestic flight. Please clarify. Thanks
Only for Delta and United.
Am I doing something wrong? Selected NY to Amsterdam 11/7 to 11/11. United price $470, not $370…
Do you need to stay for 7 days ?
Hey Dan, Just a silly question. if I use my UR point to buy the ticket, will I still a refund for my travel credit? Still have $200 worth of travel credit on my card. Thanks!
No
