I believe i heard that these tanks cannot be used on yom tov. Would be curious if anyone has info on that.
100% correct. You’re turning the ignition (fire) on and off every single time you open the faucet
I set up a small Yom tov tank besides the instand boiler/hot water. It can be done..
Would love to understand more — do you shut off flow from the instant heater and instead use the standard boiler?
You shut the flow into the instant, then you have a line from the yom tov also going to the hot water line which is off all year and you just open it for Yom tov
It’s not so simple. There is a machlokes weather one can shower on yom tov with preheated water. I believe the ram”a is strict about it (vs. the mechaber).
Unless it’s for little kids where there is more room to be maikil.
FYI, My plumber claims that you need to file the job in order to get the rebate, which will cost you at least 2k in NYC.
You can set up a bypass so that it doesn’t draw from the tankless on YT, but otherwise correct, yes.
says discontinued now
Dead?
Can anyone please help me find a frum, knowledgeable boiler professional, who can help me with boiler questions… to be used for Yom Tov? Thanks!
Which area?
I think my plumber hates installing these units.
I heard him say it’s a tankless job. (<>)
These go on briefly anytime one turns on any water spigot in the house. That includes flushing the toilet and the cold water. So shabbos is out.
I had one of these exact same units. It only turns on the burner when a hot water tap is opened. A cold water draw does require any heating.
