Dan if I have no specific redemption in mind would you still reccomend to transfer or it may be worth to keep it for other opportunities?
I wouldn’t transfer if you don’t think you’ll have a good use for the miles within the next year.
Thanks…
Btw look at the amazon thread there is a hot there…
Do the points transfer instantly??
Yes.
No, the correct answer is “sometimes.”
I have been waiting now for 12 hours for the points to show up. Called both citi and Avianca and they say I need to wait “up to 14 days.”
In the past, the points transferred instantly for me.
Seriously. Mine took about 10 days to transfer. I would say typically they are instant but it’s not a guarantee.
After my partner lost 360k miles, because of the one year expiration, I won’t transfer anything to them. Every time he went to use the miles, there was no availability or horrible/very inconvenient routing. They do offer the option to buy back, but it’s at $33/1000k, which is abhorrently expensive.
Does Citi Thankyou points account names have to match?
+1 can anyone answer?
I find they do not have the same availability (on the star aliance) that united shows (in the same category). When I called in, they said they will use the same online search tool (on life miles) that I use.
Dan, does Thank you points transfer instantly to Avianca? Thanks
They mostly do.
I’m thinking o f buying 1,000 points before the deal expires. Are these like Iberia/BA Avios in that you need at least 1 Lifetime mile to complete a transfer from Citi?
I used life miles in the past weeks, it was a savings of over $2000
Thanks Dan
how much in biz from israel to la flying united or lufthansa?
I see something very interesting, from newark, nj (ewr) to boston, ma (bos) is 7500 miles, which is the lowest amount for zone 1, however if you do visa versa, boston to newark its pricing out only 6000 miles instead of 7500 miles. Does anybody know why? & if there are more such example short flights that are for 6000 miles.
