I spent Pesach last year at the amazing Pesach on the Mountain program in Whistler with comedian Avi Liberman and told him about Etihad’s apartment first (shower) class. He flew to Amman without buying a connecting flight from Amman to Tel Aviv and still managed to survive 😀

What’s the average stop over times for these flights?
From NY they have very good connection times.
Wouldn’t it be faster to just follow the link and check for yourself?
Actually would if I had good internet connection but to search for flights where I’m currently located now would take 10 minutes, in a basement of a building at this moment.
There are plenty of Norwegian flights through out the winter from JFK for $550 range
Royal Jordanian is a full service airline with 2 free checked bags, free carry-ons, seats, kosher meals, etc. And they have interline agreements and earn OneWorld miles.
Norwegian in like Spirit and will charge you for everything.
if you buy Norwegian via GDS, (local travel agents) you get free carry-ons, + 2 Pc. of luggage, + KSML, + any seat including leg space seats.
You’re not getting $550 fares via GDS.
And you’re still at the mercy of a ULCC without interline agreements for when things go bad.

If anything goes wrong, the agent can puts in an INVO and reissue with ELAL non stop
Whats GDS KSML?
GDS = global distribution systems (the local agents use GDS)
KSML = Kosher meals
Global distribution systems
So what does that mean?
that agents use it worldwide
What is it?
GDS-local travel agents
KSML- kosher meal
I dont undertand.
So you got a KSMl , Youre kosher meal,
What does a GDS, a gate agent have to do with anything?
Paid $290 one-way for a flight from tlv-arn-jfk with 2pcs, KSML,seat selection, brand new planes, great choice of seats with a section of 25 ppl closed off with curtains.
Really depends what where and when you fly so yes 550$ is a fantastic price.
Used studentuniverse.com
I flew Norwegian to israel. It came with one free checked bag. Free WIFI the whole flight. Kosher meal for both connecting flights. It was the nicest flight I ever took to israel
Are these upgradeable with AA? Saw them booking in RJ “R” class. Does that even make sense?
R class doesn’t “mean” up-gradable, Some airlines use R class as the upgrade class, some use it as a regular class, and some as premium economy (Ex: LOT POLISH)
how many suitcases per person?
2 checked bags are free!
So totally safe ?? For a family to fly ?
Yes. Hundreds do it every day without issue.
I did it last summer with ages 5, 4 and 1.
JFK – TLV is a 7hr 40 min stopover
There are also 90 minute stopovers available, though those are selling out already.
Which day of the week? According to the official RJ timetable, the only day with a AMM-TLV within 90 minutes of the arrival of JFK-AMM is Thursday, which gets in at 5:30pm on Friday, making it useless for anyone frum.
Sunday and Tuesday should have a reasonable stopover (<2 hours) if available.
I’m looking at Sep 16 only has 7hr 40 min available
if i book 3 tickets but only want to cancel one , can i?
Easiest thing to do would be to make 2 reservations.
thanks! how come it doesnt let me add lap infants?
i did this and the third person was a child and now it doesnt let me book for the child seperate because im not booking with a adult
i didnt mention that this third person is a child and now it wont let me make a second reservation for the child separately and i already booked the two adults, any idea?
Personally, I often write 1913 instead of 2013, etc.
Nobody cares about birthdays on tickets.
thanks! how does it work with lap infants?
At this price, why not just get a seat for the infant?
More comfortable and more safe.
Possibly but if I want a lap child is there a way to add?
Tried on Orbitz?
no, priceline. is there a way to add the infant after the fact?
no call the airline to add after booking
Just wondering, if I buy a ‘hidden city’ ticket with the final destination out of the US (CUN), when I check in online, they ask for my passport number. Does that need to be accurate? Do they share that info with the govt? (I am not planning on flying on the final leg and will not be leaving the country)
Thanks just booked tickets for Chanukkah!!
It’s Nauseating, you have to advertise these Anti semites!
Dan aint advertising for them, he is simply giving people who normally cannot afford an Israel trip an opportunity to go!
That’s such BS!
Last week many were calling ElAl anti chareidim. Now you are calling this airline antisemetic. Pick one already please!
is it safe to stay overnight?
You need a visa..
How long do you have to cancel and get money back once ticket is purchased?
Read the post.
Is Royal Jordanian safe for Yidden?
Read the post.
Dan, think of these types of questions more as “reading comprehension” questions on your post 🙂
I just booked 4 seats. Price went up to $688!!
So Avi Lieberman gets to hear your Etihad trip report but you leave the rest of us hanging? 😉
It’s advertising $558 but then it changes to $688
oh man too late. the dates i see on ita for $560 already went up to 800.
ya but maybe with points it could come to a better rate you know what im saying
Avi Lieberman really did that he took a taxi to the border, can he write a detailed trip report
think its dead. Do you think if shabbos ends at 7:00pm that you can make a 9:40pm flight sat night?
How accommodating is RJ to men who prefer not to be seated next to women? Is RJ a good replacement for El Al, which recently announced that chareidi passengers are not wanted?
Since when is it not allowed to sit next to a woman?
Carry one of those full body covers as emergency equipment
Chareidi men are welcome on ElAl. If you act stubborn, selfish, and a chillul Hashem then RJ won’t be the airline for you either
With a shawl and a burka- I don’t think it makes such a difference anymore.
Can you still use AA miles to book RJ?
Anybody know if Jordan is safe to explore as a tourist? For Jews?
Thanks!
could it be booked with chase UR points? thanks
where is the best program to credit these miles to? if you fly economy on this type of fare that there offering ?
Does anyone know (@dan or someone else)if it is safe to do a seven hour stopver there, or just 90 min is fine?
90 minutes is fine.
The 90 min is sold out, would you suggest booking it if it only has the 7:30 min stopover? Is it safe to be in the airport for 7 and a half hours
It’s safe
My nonjewish coworkers wonder the same thing about TLV- if it’s safe or not. As with any city in the world, be smart and precautious and you’ll be fine in Jordan for 7 hours. I remember on my cruise, visiting the streets of Istanbul Turkey was amongst my favorite poets of call. Was it dangerous?- I didn’t think twice. If you are thinking twice with a stopover in jorden, then I suggest you go with your personal comfort level and not book the flight.
Flying BA
Best place to credit?
Abd if BA, do UK or Spain? Will have tot of 5500 st s time
Maybe will fly twice
Where best ti crefit pls?
Last year i did RJ with 2 Daughters (16 & 17) was very happy, will do it again, they use dreamliners, they arent hostile, U can daven in airport, and u can wear a Chasidishe Levush. Not crowded.
Be VERY careful to keep your boarding passes. RJ is NOTORIOUS for not crediting the jfk-amman flights! Look it up on Google. I took them to tlv in Feb and it was a multi month misery to finally have AA manually credit after RJ never did, and ignored requests.
make sure to check the KASHRUS of the food
the meal was not Glatt
He’s actually very funny!
They really use Dreamliners? What’s pshat?
i booked by mistake returing on oct 2 whcih is sukkos.
any way to switch??
24 hours to cancel- do it now!
I prefer other חברים on my flights
Can you fly into Jordan with an Israeli passport?
is justfly a normal site to book?
No.
what about flighthub
is this still active?
is flight hub a reliable site
Is there an additional charge to reserve seats?
i want to stay in Amman over night to catch a connecting Etihad Flight From Abu Dhabi. Any ideas where to stay safely for those few hours?
thanks!
Seems like these are available for $560 for sukkos. October 6 from JFK returning Thursday October 24th
