It’s not dead, still works perfectly for me.
Have one of these cameras. Real junk. It erases everything randomly. Dont buy it. They discontinued it for good reason.

awww you must have gotten a dud. mine works great and still going without problems for over a year now…
can’t get that price it keeps showing 79.99. tried looking at more buying options and still doesn’t show less than that.
