You can click here to activate to activate Chase Freedom Q2 bonus spending.
Q2 spending is valid from 4/1-6/30 for:
- Grocery stores. This includes large grocery chains and small local grocery stores.. These stores sell gift cards to other stores as well. You can lookup how a store is categorized here.
- Paypal purchases. This includes online stores that accept Paypal, eBay purchases paid with Paypal, charity donated with Paypal, as well as payments made to friends and family for goods paid with your credit card.
- Chase Pay purchases. This includes purchases at retail and online stores that accept Chase Pay like Best Buy, Starbucks, and Walmart.
Chase Freedom is an excellent no annual fee card thanks to its quarterly 5% categories. While they call it 5% cash back, you’ll really get 5 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent which can be worth much more than 5% cash. For $1,500 in spending per quarter you will earn at least 30,000 Ultimate Rewards points over the course of a year (7,500 points per quarter at 5 points per dollar spent).
While Chase Freedom is a great card for the bonus categories, it’s not a great card for everyday spending. However the Chase Freedom Unlimited® card also has no annual fee and is excellent for everyday spending.
Both the Freedom and Freedom Unlimited are parts of my Chase Quadfecta to maximize your earning potential.
Freedom or Freedom Unlimited alone can’t transfer points into much more lucrative airline or hotel miles, but if you or your spouse has a Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Ink Bold, Ink Plus, or Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card then you can transfer points from Freedom to one of those cards and from there to your favorite travel currency.
The Freedom or Freedom Unlimited card can also keep your points alive for free if you do close one of those premium cards.
The value of the points will be based on where you use them, but if you use those points for a trip worth where they are worth 2 cents each then you’ll have effectively earned 10% back on those “5 point categories.” The sky is the limit of the value of airline miles as they aren’t tied to the cost of a ticket. That’s good for people in the know and bad for those who are not. 1 mile can be worth 0.25 cents or it can be worth 25 cents, it all just depends on how you use them!

Shoprite sells metro cards & postage stamps @ the customer service desk, however sometimes they told me no c/c for stamps, so i bought instead a shoprite gift card with my c/c & i came back later & i used it to buy the stamps.
Does chase pay work like samsung pay?
No, chase pay only a few merchants accept and it generates a qr code for merchant to scan.
Unfortunately nowhere due to A/A.
Shoprite also sells lots of gift cards like the home depot,Lowe’s,kohls, amazon, macy’s & prepaid wireless top up & of course shoprite gift cards & even prepaid amex, visa & mastercard in a variety of amounts up to $500 + purchase fee. How ever when buying prepaid c/c it can be hassle of time as they will have to verify it by calling your c/c company.
Lately shoprite only carries visa cards up to $200.
On Pesach groceries.
I went into my go-to grocery for Pesach each year and explained to the owner that the categories change on the first day of Pesach…asked if I could run up a tab until we get to April and pay it then. Happily, he knew exactly what I was talking about and agreed. I went in today for a few odds and ends and to clear up the pre-yom tov balance. Let’s just say there won’t be a problem getting to $1,500 in three months.
Will charity donations through PayPal count?
Sure!
You can pay your taxes through Paypal here:https://payusatax.com/
This is the only IRS approved site that accepts Paypal (https://www.irs.gov/payments/pay-taxes-by-credit-or-debit-card)
Thank you Albert!
It’s only up to $1500 though

In the post above it mentions Chase Pay with “Walmart”. You did mean “Walmart.com”-only, right? I have not been able to use Chase Pay in-store. Has that changed?
Correct.

You will get 5X points for all three transactions if you use a different freedom card on each separate PayPal transaction.
