Update: This is now just $28.79 after the instructions below and you will receive a $40 gift card!
You can also submit the gift card rebate online.
A case of 5,000 sheets of paper is normally $57.99 and is on sale for $49.99 now just $39.99
- Add the paper to your cart.
2. In your cart click on the product link to go back to the paper.
- On a phone you should now see a red box above the paper that says “20% off one qualifying item.”
- On a computer you can scroll your mouse towards the X in the top right of your desktop browser, you should get a pop-up for “20% off one qualifying item.”
Try using an incognito browser window if you don’t get the 20% off offer.
3. Go back to checkout and the price will drop the price to $39.99 without a subscription or $35.99 with a subscription. You can cancel the subscription after the paper ships.
Plus you will get an additional $40 Office Depot/Office Max gift card via mail in rebate.
You can get up to 2 of the $40 gift cards per household, so you can repeat this process on 2 orders.
Use a Ink Business Cash® Credit Card/Plus/Bold and get 5 points per dollar spent. Or you can use an AMEX SimplyCash card to earn 5% cash back. Useless office depot gift card. Prefer prepaid card
Use it the next time there’s a deal on paper or ink 🙂

on gift card granny cardpool is offering a 40 dollar gift card for 33 dollars they send you a check after you make an account
I just wanted to let you know that after the item was delivered I went back online and I see they never posted the 20% off coupon when charging the card even though on the confirmation email it clearly shows the 20%($7.20) discount. I had to call them and after a few minutes they issued a refund of $7.20.
Can you cancel the subscription before the next delivery without issue?
Yes.
are subscriptions cancelable
Yes.
Can I cancel immediately, or should I wait for order to be processed/delivered?
All I see is 10% for subscription, no 20%, can you provide a screen shot?
Did you follow the steps?
If you don’t get the 20% off option in step 2, you can use coupon code 7JW7Z1RM8K8FAM in the cart. Worked for me (that’s the code that they applied when I did it in incognito)
Actually that may have been a specifically generated code for me, disregard
Can you use the gift card anywhere or only office depot?
On sale for 9.99?
“You can get up to 2 of the $40 gift cards per household, so you can repeat this process on 2 orders.”
It says in the fine print that they all need to be on the same receipt..
That’s in order to send it in on the same rebate.
Can also just make 2 rebates in 2 people’s names.
Question: If I bought two cases on the same receipt (order), will I receive two (2) $40 gift cards upon application for rebate?
Thanks!
Not working for me.
Tried from a desktop and mobile?
Tried incognito?
Good morning Dan, finally worked for me! Had to use a different IP (server), my local IP just was not giving me the 20% coupon. Thanks!
do we send in the email receipt or the packing slip for the rebate?
You can do it online.
When can you cancel the subscription?
Recommend to include in the post that the subscription can be cancelled to avoid all ? regarding cancelling
rebate form says “qualified items need to be on same receipt”. will it still work with 2 separate orders?
You can also submit the rebate online https://officedepot.rewardpromo.com
cardpool is offering 33 dollars for an office max/depot gift card will mail you a check after you make an account
Tried different browsers… no success
Tried from a desktop and mobile?
Tried incognito?
Can I cancel subscription after deliery?
Yes.
Reading DD comments is one of the funnest things I do while @ Work
Hours of entertainment.
Unbelievable that people have to be spoon-fed what was ALREADY posted. Read, people. Read.
dan can you spill the secret as to how you unload your staples visa gift cards that you buy to meet spening on the cip? going through frustarion on how to cash them out trying to submit a refund request over the phone
Grocery stores, WM.
Many store the cashier can take the $15 or $20 Visa GC first and then the balance off another card. In a large supermarket here a manager has to approve these split tender payments so it’s not worth the wait.
How long does the rebate take
READ the rebate, it’s all there.
in rebate terms it says: ‘all qualified items must be on same reciept’ how do i do a rebate for 2?
Do the 2nd rebate in someone else’s name?
Thanks, Dan. Worked for me.
You can also submit the rebate online at https://officedepot.rewardpromo.com
I apologize Aron, but the item has a promotion for $49.99 with a back in rewards of $40. Our system will only take 1 coupon per transaction/order.
What can I do with this issue the chat is telling me?
Order worked. TY!!
Thanks Dan! Blessings!
20 percent off doesnt work on 2nd order why not? wanted to order 2 cases of paper and placed seperate orders same address for same rebates only worked for first one not second was i supposed to just order 2 orders of paper to one address and get the rebate 2x on one reciept?
should you wait till ships out before you fill out rebate?
should you wait till ships to filll out rebate?
Relax, dude! Wow. Read the comments!
the problem online is unlike staples visa gift cards you buy in store and fill out the rebate to diffrent addresses here your buying it on your account shipping to your home so if you buy a bunch of paper orders and ship it to your homeeven if you fill out the rebate and send it to 4 diffrent addresses you can still potentially have issues am i correct?
what?
here is my 20% coupon, wont be needing it
MJW7Z1RM4Q8Z2G
Remember to give 5% to your favorite school after checkout.
FYI: Fine print says 20% coupon can’t be used for “on sale box paper” which I think this is. If it works, awesome, but probably YMMV
Except, it works.
Perhaps. Mine is backordered, coupon shows on invoice but price is still pre-coupon price, hence YMMV.
49.99 a case doesn’t sound like on sale box paper. I usually pay less than $30
Erm, read the post?
While processing your subscription order we identified issues with the following items.

you can cancel right away
looks like its 9.99
Office Depot Gift Cards are NOT useless.
I donate them to teachers at local schools.
Regardless of whether you use them yourself or you donate them, the point is that it is likely that whatever ends up being purchased with them could have been purchased elsewhere for far less. Great deals from OD are few and far between.
Getting the coupon pop-up is the hard part — tried a few different browsers in incognito mode and finally got it to work in IE inprivate mode. But is worth the effort even if you do not want the paper deal today because the coupon expires 12/31/18.
In addition, PAPER is not listed as an excluded item on the coupon,
Coupon terms below:
20% Off Your Highest Priced Item. Excludes Technology, Appliances, Electronic Labelers and Tapes, HP Ink and Toner, and Epson Ink. Limit 1 Offer(s) Per Customer. Expires 12/31/2018.
Any ideas on how to get the 20% coupon on an iPad?
if anyone is looking to sell boxes of paper please pm me. I can use 10-15 boxes.
How would we PM you – forums?
Any reason purchasing the paper with an existing OD gift card would not qualify for the rebate? No mention in T&C. I am not talking about using rewards, which did not previously allow a customer to claim a rebate. This is an actual gift card.
No problem.
I paid with rewards. Do you have information that I can’t get the rebate because of that?
You should know that office depot will match many stores. They used to match amazon in store but now, at least where i am, they will match bestbuy, staples, microcenter, walmart and a few other stores. They sell alot of tech on their website that is not in the stores. I have purchased several ssd drives from them and they matched price on everyone. With this in mind the $40 gift card is valuable.
Thanks again Dan! I actually had an $80 Office Depot gift card and this was the perfect way to use it and have it reinstated!
worked!
Using the product link provided, the 20% off coupon actually dropped the price to (35.99-7.2=28.79 for subscription) and (39.99-8=31.99 for non-subscription) for me. And in the process i found out that i had $9 reward bucks with them. Thank you Dan!
WIll they match price if i bought last week?
i have the same question, please respond!
I just got refund for the difference. Don’t know if it’s part of their price match policy or if it was a “one time exception” thing… Doesn’t hurt to try
i just called them, and they put a notice on my account that when i call them back when the item ships, that they should refund the difference
comes out for me to 34.83 after tax….
does this make sense?
Did you subscribe to make it $35.99 and use the 20% off coupon?
@Dan – i used rewards. can i still get the rebate?
Also – i paid the higher price last week, will they price match last weeks order?
Patience is key, I just had to stay on the product page for a while and the 20% popped up, incognito.
@dan can I order the second order under my account and submit 2nd rebate under different name or needs to be aspirate account same house hold and name that was used for that account?
@dan you sure we will get our rebates after use of a coupon?
Nathan: 20% Off Your Highest Priced Item. Excludes Technology, Appliances, Electronic Labelers and Tapes, HP Ink and Toner, and Epson Ink. Limit 1 Offer(s) Per Customer. Expires 12/31/2018.
You can make use of this coupon code other than this exclusion list and if you make use of this coupon code for any purchase which you like to receive back in rewards or rebate you will not be eligible to get the rewards or rebate.
You: where does it say that wont get rebate?
Nathan: As per our general rebate policy you will not able to receive any back in rebate if you make use of any discount coupon code.
Nothing in the rebate terms say that.
CS reps make stuff up all the time.
Called and they credited
Worked like a charm. Got it for $31.35 and got the rebate immediately online but it made me sign up for email alerts to be able to get the 20% off.
i made 2 separate orders and did 2 separate rebate requests online but i mistakenly used the same name for the 2 orders going to the same household address.
will i get my rebates or not?
rebate limit is 2 so you’re fine
I just chatted with them online and got a price adjustment credit. Thanks Dan
Did I miss something? The question by “freebie” yesterday at 8:36 pm seems to have gone without comment. I believe it states that an OD cust service person claims that with a coupon, the rebate will be invalidated.
TRUE OR MYTH??????????????????????????????
I hesitate to call the rebate people, but that will be the next step, I suppose.
Myth.
Dead
can i cancel thursdays order and reorder now to get the lower price or im risking not getting the rebate?
It’s oos and check out my comment below
