The Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem opened in 2014 and is a gem, possibly the finest hotel in the whole country. And best of all you can use Hilton points and free night to stay there. Previously the David Citadel Hotel was a gem in the Hilton portfolio when it opened in 1998, but it left Hilton in 2001.
Aside from the perfect location and luxurious accommodations, it’s worth staying at the Waldorf just for the fantastic daily breakfast, which is free for Hilton Gold and Diamond members even when they’re using points. Here is a comparison chart of the 4 Hilton AMEX cards that will be offered in January 2018. 3 of the cards offer automatic Hilton Gold status.
Normally the hotel is 95K points per night or 76K points on a 5 night stay for Hilton credit card holders and elite members.
However, Hilton removed their award chart this year and nights in 2018 are pricing on a variable scale as follows:
January/February: From 72K points/night.
March: From 77K points/night.
April/May: From 89K points/night.
June: 95K points/night.
July: From 77K points/night.
August: From 74K points/night.
September: From 77K points/night.
October: 95K points/night.
November/December: From 80K points/night.
Hilton credit card holders and elite members get every 5th night free, so 5 nights at 72K points per night would mean an average of just 57K points/night:
There is a mind-boggling quantity of awesome kosher food at the hotel’s daily breakfast, from dozens of daily hot dishes to hard cheeses, fresh fruits and pastries to fresh squeezed juices, as well as on-demand dishes like french toast, pancakes, waffles, and eggs. Unlimited wine, hot or cold chocolate drinks, and espresso drinks are included as well! The topic of the hotel’s hashgocha can be found and discussed in the comments on this post on the hotel’s pending sale. Comments about the hashgocha won’t be approved in this post.
With a breakfast like this, you may not even be hungry for dinner…

I’ll trade you for them
Nice, just got back some points by rebooking our stay for next year!
Well done!
How? I am trying and I’m getting nowhere with any of the reps at Hilton. I tried HUCA three times.
The Jan / Feb dates that I’m looking at show 179,000 points per night
amazing property-
If i booked wirh hilton points 3 months ago at 95k ,can i get reimbursed? Or can i cancel reservation and tebook?
If it’s available for less online just cancel and rebook it.
breakfast like this is not so unusual for israeli hotels.
almost as good as the one you describe can be had at ramada renaissance jerusalem for a way cheaper cost per night and free for all guests
Not even close. Did you actually try both?
Hi. I’m on the phone now with hiltonhhonors to rebook my upcoming reservation at the end of February. They are saying that rooms are 95000 points each night, with one free night.
How do I get Hilton to refund my points?
Ty
If it’s available for less online just cancel and rebook it.
not only is it not available for less on line, they’re asking more than double the amount on line!
How do I get them to give me the lower rate?
not working for me
As someone who does bookings for people all the time at the Waldorf on both cash and on points the way it works is the superior or accessible superior have to be available for the whole stay to get the cheapest room rate. So if looking now and it’s unavailable then Hilton will tell u they can’t help u unless u cancel and rebook because they won’t see that room type in the system, even if cancel that’s not a guarantee that the room will automatically recycle so may not be worth the risk (unless booked on cash and the next room level is still cheaper then orginally priced) in to the system to rebook right away, the prices went down about 2 weeks ago and had to change multiple bookings and not everytime was the room I cancelled still available. Most were cash stays so even if that room wasn’t available the next category was and was still cheaper then orginally priced. If it’s available u can rebook from the app just go to edit reservation and there’s an option there to pick a new room and it’ll update the reservation.
If any questions or if can be of help can
message me one ddf at gross5g
for me its showing from 2/1-2/26 189,000 per night
For all those like myself who are unfamiliar with the dansdals forums I found valuable information in the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem form….

Just rebooked the rest of my stay for the next few nights!
Thanks Dan
How? no rep seems to know what I am talking about!
Hilton app
The Leonardo plaza (old plaza) has a comparable breakfast and the layout much better as all in one big room even has open oven fresh baked personal pizza pies fresh baked on the spot croissants
So breakfast wise their are hotels that match the Waldorf but that’s about the only thing in common it’s down hill all the way from their old crappy rooms not updated but heimish a step up from prima palace for heimish crowd
I was there when it was the Sheraton. I don’t think their breakfast compared to the fresh menu options, espresso drinks, etc.
Not mehadrin, but take a look at the Orient. Took a tour the other day. Their breakfast dwarfs the WAJ but the rooms in WAJ are much nicer and bigger . Location is much much better at WAJ. The theme in the orient is wood and they have cheap looking faux wood wall paper or plastic on the walls in the hallways. The rooms at the orient are however much bigger than the plaza.
Sticking with WAJ.
how long does it take to transfer or pool points with another member?
I was looking from January 2 to 3 not showing availability only for 199000 point
how far out can you cancel and get completely refunded with no penalties? i want to book for june
Varies by date, read the cancel rules at final checkout.
thank you
If I use a Hilton Amex Surpass which has foreign transaction fees, do I need to pay foreign transaction fees to book this Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem?
Here is the link that shows it has foreign transaction fees.
https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/card-application/apply/member/terms/hilton-honors-surpass-credit-card/36182-11-0/#FeeTable
Make sure to tell them charge in dollars, if do pay in advance (non refundable) u will get charged a forex bit can ask the hotel when u go to refund it and charge in dollars or have them refund the charge to amex and use a non forex card.
but in any case the surpass is becoming the aspire card in a month and will no longer have forex fees
Usually cancellation is 2 days before stay.
Again the only rooms that will be in 72-95k range will be superior or accessible superior rooms. sometimes to find the accessible room to show you have to click on the top right near where says choose a room and click accessible room and apply then room will come up.
right but dates like holidays of succos sometimes have 60 day cancellation
Dan. The hyperlinks are not coming through on your recent posts. Typing them in come up as an error.
Why is everyone talking about yummy food on a fast day!! My head is spinning…
Tried booking for the summer but we are a family of 5 and to book a suite it gets crazy. I’d book two rooms but the can’t guarantee we’d have connecting rooms 🙁
As a diamond member I’ve stayed at the Waldorf on points in December the last 3 years. With the 5th night free it was in 70-80k points per night. BEst deal in town. 15 minutes walk to the kotel, amazing accommodations, free breakfast, etc. On Shabbos morning, if you daven at 8am (common in Israel) many people have the free breakfast at 10am as their free shabbos lunch – especially during the short winter shabboses.
tried to book a night using rewards. Was available when I called in but took about an hour and 2 other agents to reach a supervisor who could help with certificate award by then the standard room was gone. Any recourse? Asked for a supervisor – she said she was supervisor and didn’t report to anyone.
Are these points still valid for 2019? when I go to the Hilton website the points for beginning of april are much higher
Hi – What is the amount of points needed in the Waldorf Jerusalem now in January 2019 per night?
