I wonder what choice of wines this comes with, it’s obviously not any wine on the wine list.
@AsherO:
Updated the post with the full menu for this special.
where is this!!!
@mendel:
On this little island called “Manhattan”
the desserts in the prix fixe look lame. I would expect a lava cake or similar.
@Dan:Sales Tax (8.875%) and Gratuity of 18% on the pre-discounted value of the deal will be added to your bill.
So if they value the “pre-discount” menu at $150, thats $40 of taxes and tip on the deal.
Is this place kosher?
@ anon nope Dan always posts non kosher resturants
What hechsher does the place have?
@Anonymous: The following was posted on their website
Kosher Certification & Hashgacha
What’s type of kosher certification do you have?
Talia’s Steakhouse is a glatt kosher establishment under the strict orthodox, on-site supervision of Rabbi Avrohom Marmorstein. Rabbi Marmorstein is the director of Mehadrin Kashrus, the widely-respected community-based kosher supervision service based in Manhattan, and spiritual leader of Congregation Minchas Chinuch.

This deal is pretty cool to go for dating, or a nice night out with the Mrs. They even have some nice live music on Tuesday and Thursday nights to make for a pleasant ambiance.
I also notices that this deal will include as an entree their mouthwatering ribeye. For that alone its worth it. Add in the wine, appetizers and desert as a bonus.
I really hate to break bad on a Kosher restaurant, But before you pull the trigger on this deal, check out the reviews at Yelp. Not very flattering.

Just trying to save my fellow DansDealers some shekels in this tough economy.
With tax & tip, we’re talkin’ over $110(not including parking!) for two meals that , based on recent history and reviews, may not meet your expectations.
If you do go, please share your impressions with us.
@Mendel: Can anyone verify if what mendel said is correct? If so then really not that gr8 of a deal IMHO
@momo: Its not correct. On livingsocial, the terms state that “Gratuity not included (Be nice and tip on the pre-discounted total!”
However, on Talia’s website, (http://www.taliassteakhouse.com/specialmenu1.html), the following appears: “Sales Tax (8.875%) and Gratuity of 18% on the pre-discounted value of the deal will be added to your bill.”
So whether you will be forced to pay the whole thing, or just be kindly asked to, remains to be seen. If you don’t want to shell out the whole 18% tip, the living social terms seem to be sufficient to support your position.
U should be able to find street parking in the evenings no prob however I would do do some more homework on the hashgacha. I know a little about the politics so I’d be a little carefull.
I just wnt on it says the deal is over.
@joel:
Yup, it is past “4:59am EST on 02/14”
