-WOW serves 10 North American cities: Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, Newark, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and Toronto. You’ll be able to connect from those cities to Tel Aviv via Reykjavik.
They’re fashioned as a ULCC (Ultra low-cost carrier) like Spirit, but WOW. Note that in case of flight cancellations WOW Air likely will not rebook you on another airline, so you may have to wait several days to be reaccommodated.
They advertise cheap fares, but the extras add up quickly.
For a one-trip way between the US and Israel you’ll pay:
-$50 in advance/$70 at checkin for a carry-on bag (22 x 18 x 10 in up to 26 lbs). You’ll pay an additional $60 if it doesn’t fit in their bag sizer and you’ll have to check it under.
-$70 in advance/$80 at checkin for a checked bag (up to 62″ and up to 44 lbs). You’ll pay an additional $18.18 per pound over 44 pounds.
-Reserving a seat will set you back an additional $20-$100 depending on the seat.
-Water, soda, and snacks cost extra.
-There’s no Wi-Fi or entertainment onboard.
However for an extra $97 each way you can book a WOW Plus fare at the time of booking that will include a free carry-on bag, checked bag, and assigned seat.
-1 personal item smaller than 17 x 13 x 10in is included for free on all fares. That means a bag like this one or like this one can be worth buying to have a free personal item.

They clearly dont want jews flying on weekends with these flight times. 635pm EWR saturday in october and 825am TLV sat in october?? common!
October 3rd won’t make it for succos either
Actually most EX NYC dates are Shabbos
I post all valid dates. I’d assume people will figure when they can’t travel on their own.
Do they ever have cheap rates EWR to LGW?
Rip off price for a garbage airline, totally not worth it. Its $500 round-trip. You can fly on any normal airline with a stop-over for pretty much the same price. It’s not a deal even if you “market it” as $246 one way, as opposed to $496 round-trip.
1. Please tell me where to find a round-trip for $500 from NYC-TLV please.
2. Some people only need a one-way ticket, such as students, people who need to make a expensive change on a return ticket, etc.
Royal Jordanian had a $528 fare for over 2 weeks in the last month, including part of Sukkos and many many winter dates. Bags, meals, all included.
Many people would prefer to not fly to Jordan.
I saw this fare this morning on the SecretFlying website (a great website, by the way, almost as good as DansDeals :)). It captured my attention and, had it been on a regular airline, I almost certainly would have bought. But I don’t think it’s really a “deal” on Wow. In this case, you get what you pay for. A bit like if you could fly Spirit to TLV for a $300 base airfare. It’s cheap, but not a deal. If you’re a starving student travelling with no luggage, yes, it might be worthwhile. But most people should wait for a sale fare on a better airline with better routings and more included amenities (like luggage).
Have flown million and millions of miles, Wow Air was the worst ever I have experienced.
Never, Don’t ever fly with them.If you are looking for a nightmare,
then take WOW Air.
Anyone actually flown WOW? Do their seats recline at all? Flew Spirit once and never again. Shocked to find spirit seats don’t move AT ALL – they are like seats on inter-city buses but more cramped than buses. UGH!!!!
WOW seats do recline and they have much more legroom than Spirit. They’re in-line with the major US carriers.
Wow, Air is and was a disaster.I used that airline and, NEVER AGAIN.

Dimensions are not accurate to external limits

This was a very nice luggage, the handle a tad flimsy though. I would’ve kept it if it were not for being too large as a personal item on WOW air. I Measured the luggage with measuring tape, and it comes out to exactly 17in wide, 14 1/2 in tall and 9in deep external dimensions with handle and wheels included. Note, that although WOW air states 17x13x10 as the personal item limit, they go by the centimeter dimensions of 42x32x25, which comes out to being smaller than the former by about 1/2in in each side. I unfortunately had to return this luggage and ordered the Travelon 14in Wheeled Carry-on instead (the non-padded one fits the dimensions)
I booked 26Nov-7Dec for roughly same price. At that time Wow plus offered the carry on, checked bag, and cancellation insurance. They appeared to have changed by removing the insurance and giving standard (9.99 each leg) seats for the Plus. Be careful with the wording on your confirmation as they use the term “cabin baggage max 20kg” to describe carry on. But they mostly reference the dimensions and the word carry on on the site. Also, they have a decent Wow app but for some reason does not offer the plus or Biz the way DD link does. Once booked you can’t upgrade. I planned on playing “Russian Roulette ” by not paying for seats. As is my experience with Frontier the best seats never pre-sell. I’ll let you know.
There were some real horror stories (even by budget airline standards) in the beginning. Have they improved since?
I doubt it.
Long layover in KEF makes Thursday flights out of the question, which eliminates October 19th (which was a date that might have been of interest).
What’s their xl and XXL seats like.
can the 17 x 13 x 10 personal item be combined with asmall hatbox with a hat inside ? would they let you fly with that?
Is it the same price FROM Israel to Nwk?
Yes, look on their site.
How can I see when their flu ghts are from TLV —> Toronto?? (And vice versa 🙂 ) And are all their flights one-way? Thanks!
It says 350 when I put in October 18
Is there a promo because September 18 says 350 not 150 from Newark to tel Aviv
WOW now flying out of CVG. Go Cincy!
Thanks Dan – I did not take the AC flights today because did not have on the dates I want. I am looking at Wow (was under maintenance for awhile earlier) and did the Wow Plus, not bad, comes to 673 for TLV EWR in Dec. I can get 623 for DL/AF to JFK. Would you say it is much better to fly AF/DL compared to Wow? I prefer EWR over JFK, but how do the flights compare? TIA
How come I’m seeing the cheapest flight being $199 each way and only on like 4 different dates, otherwise $249 or $299?
