I an interested in getting the PPC-6700 for the Sprint SERO plan. At the moment the cheapest I can find is $150ish thru the SERO website with a $150 mail in rebate. Is there are way to get this phone cheaper? Also, is this phone capable of being a EVDO modem for my laptop? What would I need to do this?

The 6700 can be used as a modem, but its $320 at sero, the $150 rebate wont be valid because youre getting $280 off instantly.
For that money I’d recommend the treo 700p.
If you want to spend less, the blade-samsung a900 for $79.99 is a bargain and can be used as a bluetooth or usb modem.

Yes, you can use the 700p with any vision plan and use it as a modem with an easy hack.
You can get it on ebay for cheap, but its not always so easy to get a CS agent to switch you over to SERO…
