American Express is a DansDeals.com advertiser.
Several DDF members have posted that they were targeted for a spend bonus on their Starwood consumer card.
You can login to your AMEX account via this link to check if you are targeted.
If you are targeted and spend $5,000 on your SPG card you’ll get 10,000 total Starpoints. You need to enroll by 3/31 and complete the spending by 5/31.
My cards aren’t targeted this time, are yours?

Yes, was targeted but I’m not sure what’s so great about this offer. You get 35000 points for spending 3000 once you open the card so spending 5000 to get 5000 points doesn’t seem so great to me
Nothing 🙁
@Jake:
2 Starpoints (=2.5 airline miles) per dollar everywhere is an excellent deal.
Obviously signup bonuses are always more lucrative than everyday spending
I was targeted
We love having you as a Starwood Preferred Guest® Card Member
Here’s How
You can earn 5,000 Bonus Starpoints® after you spend $5,000 in qualifying purchases on your enrolled Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express between the time you complete enrollment and May 31, 2017. Enrollment period ends on March 31, 2017
Nothing 🙁
Targeted! Thanks!
I was targeted back in December until 4/31.
boo not targeted =(
Got it. Thanks
Wife was targeted and I called to confirm purchases on my authorized user card work the same. They do! Thanks for the heads up Dan!
got it. Thanks
Got it thank you!
Received the targeted email today.
Dan i got an offer to upgrade from my business gold card to a business platinum card with an offer of 50k points if I do the upgrade will I get the 50k points even though I already had the business platinum card?
@Brian Goldberg: All cards on the same account work towards that one account. It is per account, not per card.
It seems as if people with an upcoming annual fee are getting this email
well, to clarify, it would be 10,000 points for a $5000 spend. Still not as good as the signup bonus of course
If I have a tax bill of $5,000+ coming due, and was targeted with this offer. It would probably make sense for me to eat the fee for 2x SPG. Am I correct?
@Ed:
For sure.
targeted 🙂
@Dan.Great You have taught me to think like a pro. Thank you!
Yes, received email offer for two SPGs. However, the AF is due on both and will most likely be billed next month – perfect Amex- timing!
Amex stopped refunding AFs retroactively, correct?
In that case, I would be forced to eat 2x the AF?
@Joey: Same story for me.
@Joey: A chat agent (I only asked one so far) told me I have 30 days from the time AF is billed to receive a full refund.
