Usually if a post starts with the word ”HURRY!” it means its a pretty good deal.
This is a great buy! There is the sd 1400 which is one model newer than this. And its 179 all over. So the 70 price difference is well worth taking the older model. If anyone knows if there is any major upgrades to the sd 1400 please post to let us all know.

For those that were asking, the only difference between this and the newer model (1400 IS) is that this is 12.1 MP and that one is 14.1 MP. Also the 1400 IS records video in a different format (H.264 or MPEG-4) as opposed to the 1300 IS which uses MJPEG. The quality of the video is probably about the same but the newer model uses less memory space to save the video. In my opinion it is definitely not worth the $50-$70 to go for the newer model.

Sorry it took a while till I saw this.
I believe that MJPEG takes up approximately 4-5 times the space as compared to H.264 to obtain the same quality. It is definitely significant but as this is a stills camera and not a video camera I imagine it doesnt affect people that much.
thanks. however for someone that doesnt have a camcorder. the sd1400 can double up as one for long videos. so its a consideration.
