These fares are not on sale with miles, but you can pay for the ticket with “hybrid points” if you have AMEX or Chase points and a Business Platinum or Sapphire Reserve card.
Using AMEX points:
If you have The Enhanced Business Platinum Card® from American Express OPEN you can get a 50% rebate on the airline of your choice.
The 50% rebate will go back into your account the day after redeeming points.
You can login to your account and redeem AMEX points for travel here.
A $41.20 flight will be 4,120 points and you would get a 50% rebate making the effective cost just 2,060 points, a value of 2 cents per point:
Using Chase points:
If you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve® card you can redeem points for 1.5 cents each towards travel.
A $41.20 flight will be 2,746 points. That includes all taxes and you still earn miles for flying!
You can login to your account and redeem Chase points for travel here.

I thought I read in the t&c that the 50% bonus on Amex only works when using more than 5k points!
@OscarAsher:
You’re confusing 2 benefits.
1. You get 50% bonus points on $5,000+ purchases.
2. You get a 50% rebate on all points used for travel on the airline of your choice in coach and on all airlines in business/first.
No, I saw a 5k minimum as well…
“‡BENEFIT TERMS
50% Airline Bonus
To use Pay with Points, you must charge your eligible airfare purchase through American Express Travel to a Membership Rewards® program-enrolled American Express® Card. Points will be debited from your Membership Rewards account, and credit for corresponding dollar amount will be issued to the American Express Card account used. If points redeemed do not cover entire amount, the balance of purchase price will remain on the American Express Card account. Points must be used at the time of booking. Pay with Points requires a minimum redemption of 5,000 points.”
@Joe:
That has nothing to do with the 50% bonus, that’s a blanket statement that “Pay with Points requires a minimum redemption of 5,000 points”
Either way, it’s not true for online redemptions.
Not seeing these prices…looking for Jetblue 2/16-2/23….help?
@A:
You need to search one-way for all airlines on Priceline.
Used 2.5k amex points last week for ewr-fll on united. Was charged $25 for luggage. Would have made more sense to buy the ticket for $50 with united explorer card and not pay for luggage
@Anonymous: do a hybrid of points and cash and use your unites card to pay 1 dollar. That should trigger the free baggage.
@Dan:
Thanx, Dan for the info in comment #4. I was under the same impression as Joe and OscarAsher (#3 & #1).
You are the king !
If I booked tickets with Frontier Airlines, can I still cancel by Monday night? Or is it only for 24 hours? I know that I need to call by phone…
@Ariel:
24 hours.
I flew on the previous deal 2 weeks ago. $80 R/T EWR/FLL. On the return, United upgraded me on a morning flight that was 40% full in coach, but full in first. 😉
I’m Million Miler (gold status).
My $40 1 way ticket got me breakfast!!
Is this deal still active? I’m looking for cheap tix to Orlando for Pesach. Got any other air fare deals?
