About Bibi's Bakery & Café

  • "[The owner's] Israeli-style breakfast is just amazing. This little store makes you feel like you’re in a little store in Jerusalem or Haifa." – Top Chef contestant Katsuji Tanabe, as told to LA Weekly

  • "This Jewish bakery in the heart of the Pico-Robertson neighborhood is a hole-in-the-wall in the best possible sense. Just a few tables that are never empty and a bakery display case." – Eater LA

  • "On Fridays, there’s often a line out the door as locals prepare for Shabbat, and the Jerusalem bagels often sell out by 1:30 p.m." – LA Weekly

Bibi's Bakery & Café is a favorite of both Kosher Corridor residents and visitors from all over LA—on any given day, you can expect to hear Yiddish, Hebrew, Farsi, French, Russian, English, and Spanish spoken within its walls. There's no doubt most come for the authentic Middle Eastern baked goods, including pita, challah, bagels, hamentaschen (a filled triangular pastry), flaky bureka pastries, and calzone-like sambusak. They're all artfully baked in a tabun, or stone-domed oven. But the certified kosher—and vegetarian friendly—shop is also known for its café sandwiches, donuts, and ultra-thin-crust pizzas.
