AAdvantage Credit Card Reduced Mileage Awards For July-September 2010!
You can book mileage tickets now on AA for flights that are 700 miles or less for just 8,750 miles for a one-way flight or 17,500 miles for a round-trip flight.
You must book by 08/31/10 and travel by 12/15/10.
This offer isn’t quite as good as United’s as its only for non-stops, the travel period is shorter, and AA charges an expedite fee to non-elites.
However the AA offer does allow you to book the reduced mileage tickets even on the day of travel, while United requires booking 7 days in advance.
You can check the distance of a flight using the great circle mapper, which in this link tells us that New York to Montreal is just a 324 mile flight and is therefore eligible for the 8,750 mile award.

didnt AA just get rid of the Expedite fee and now its $0 for all <21 days? or is the Expedite fee something else?
Some tricks if you want to use it to go from NYC to Chicago or Atlanta which are both over 700 miles.
Fly from ABE-ORD (Allentown, PA) or fly from PHL-ATL (Philadelphia, PA)

@ Mendel when did AA start flying PHL-ATL , I guess if UA allows stops it can be done on UA but not AA as AA requires you fly Only on a non-stop flight

As discussed in the United post, you can book a United ticket from NYC to Detroit for 8,750 miles and just get off the plane in Chicago and throw away the Chicago-Detroit ticket.
Dan- I have heard that it’s a big risk- if they catch you doing that (getting off at ORD and not continuing), they can take away all your mileage. My father knows someone who it happened to- and he lost A LOT of mileage.
In response to my previous post: I asked someone about this and I was told that on a mileage ticket, it is difficult for the airline to catch on. However, doing this on a regular ticket (non-mileage) with a connection is a big risk.
I just reserved a millage ticked for 8,750 I have till the end of the week to make the purchase if I make the actual purchase after the 31st will I still get it for this amount?
