is there a cap to the 4x ebay bucks per item?
Dan,
Not sure how to get ahold of you directly but I owe you a big thanks and maybe this can be passed along to your readers so they too can avoid this potential heartache.
I travel to Israel often and not too long ago I began renting cars while there instead of relying on cabs.
Before doing so I checked out a few of your articles to see if there’s anything to be aware of and you mentioned that they’re notorious for “discovering” damages that weren’t there previously and advised to take pictures of the car from all angles.
I’ve been doing so religiously and have never yet been bothered. This time, after returning my car to Hertz, the fellow got down on his knees and looked under the car to see if he could find some damages! He found on the underside of the front bumper some scratches that must have happened sometime back and tried to blame me for them.
Luckily I had my pictures and the scratches were right there and I successfully fought off that attempt to gouge me. Without those pictures, I was toast.
Please remind your readers to take the photos. It’s the only protection they’ll have against this dishonest practice and thank you for the heads up.
Thank you!
