Turkish is a very highly rated and perfectly safe airline. Thousands of religious Jews have taken their flights without issues and report that service has been far superior to other airlines. They also still gives 2 free bags and they have an awesome Star Alliance lounge in Istanbul. Many flights have free Wi-Fi aboard. They also have a whopping 8 flights a day between Istanbul and Tel Aviv.
Should your politics determine which airline you fly? Perhaps, but that’s a decision that you’ll have to weigh against your pocketbook, it’s not a decision I’ll make for you…
Note that these deeply discounted Turkish fares do not earn miles on partner airlines. But they do earn miles in Turkish’s own Star Alliance program.

Anything from TLV to US?
Let’s be clear, it’s not direct from Boston to tlv. There is a stop in turkey and the layovers are more then 14 hours.
But what if I DONT WANT to stay in TEL AVIV at all???
Darn!
And here I thought that Turkish air started flying nonstop from Boston to Tel Aviv!
@Chaim: no they’re a Turkish carriage. Not a US.
Not sure where to post this but im being charged for a cash advance on AMEX serve with Chase…beware!
hi, this is very frustrating. I’ve put in many of the sample dates listed – both when I wanted to go, and even when I don’t – just to see if prices were better then….. i can’t get anything cheaper then nearly $1,000 Canadain, which is still mid $800-$900 US. Am I doing something wrong?
got 4 tickets for pesach. boston to tlv each $561. what a family treat!! THANKS DAN
I’ve flown many times on Turkish but after last summer I’m done
Do you have to stay in Tel Aviv? Where is more info on that?
Dan / JJ: On the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel portal 3/31 – 4/13 is coming up $551.92 or 44,154 Chase points (if you have the Ink or Sapphire Preferred card). I know Dan likes to get a higher “value†than 1.2 cents per chase point but 44K miles for a round trip to Israel for Pesach with a short stopover in Europe is amazing in my opinion. 🙂

Try on Dansdeals Forums. There is a dedicated thread to Serve on the Credit Card board.
It’s time for people to stop thinking with their pocketbooks and wallets. Flying Turkish Air supports the economy of Turkey which hates Israel and is led by a fanatical anti-Semite. I realize that a large family can save thousands of dollars but go read some of the poison cited by Erdoghan in the past year. It’s frightening and vicious.
Has anyone ever flown Ukrainian international airlines with a stopover in Ukraine? I’m trying to figure out if its safe for my 16 year old son alone
Ukraine – sure can’t think of a reason not to. Perfectly safe and peaceful country. I can’t re memebr any airline incidents there in recent years either
I see $702 for this tues 10/28 from JFK with an hour layover
@Dan’s the man:
you call yourself “danstheman” but then you go against his wise advice…. you could sell that 44k UR for $750+ and buy this ticket w/cash for $560 and you be left w/$200.
In theory Erdogan is a Hitler in the making. Would any of you support the Nazi regime in the 1930’s beased on some savings? Of course you wouldn’t. So why is Turkey any different? They support terrorism and the fanatics in Iran. They want us dead and it is only a matter of time, until erdogan gets his way and cuts off ties with Israel totally. So why support him in the interim? It should be boycotted the same way he boycotts Israel. Shame on all you penny pinchers. You wont stop at anything. And Dan, you should advertise for them either. You are doing a tremendous disservice
@mo: where can I sell my points for that much?
If you stop over in IST, Turkish Airlines will give you hotel for two days. Great deal. Same for IST stopover from USA to London, Paris, etc. /What has Turkish Airline flights got to do with Erdogan’s silly talk?
@ MO
who pays $750+ for 44k chase points?
Thanks Dan, had a great experience last time I traveled Turkish, the only “downside” this time is that our layover isn’t long enough to use the lounge!
@mo: Chase points on the open market are not worth that much anymore. They have gone down in value since United’s devaluation earlier this year. While I still might be able to a little more than 1.2 cents it’s not worth it for me to sell the points for 1.3 cents with the risk of Chase cracking down on it rather than to get a 1.2 cent value and fly roundtrip to Israel for 40K miles. Remember most airlines “saver” rates to Israel are 80K roundtrip.
@Dan’s the man:
You’re clueless.
Plenty of brokers pay 1.5 for Chase and nobody’s been shutdown for transfers to airlines.
Who pays 1.5 cents? I have 250k to sell
@Moben: what’s your e-mail?
Thanx Dan, just booked this great deal for a Feb trip, $561 is unheard of for r/t, keep up the great work!
Who wants to fly Turkish Airlines for any price? They are the biggest Anti-Semites around these days
@bob Pakimoben@yahoo.ca
If one dislikes Obama and his administration, should they avoid flying American Airlines?
Are all tickets on priceline refundable until 11:59PM that day? I called last night and they said they wouldn’t confirm that over the phone.
@Moben: I e-mailed you.
@Fly14: @Fly14: American Airlines is not owned by the U.S. government. Turkish is 49% owned by the Turkish government.
@bob can i get that email too please? lkbaibish@gmail.com
I just seareched from jfk to tlv dec. 15-25 and didnt get the cheap results. would you please advise?
Call me 516-4047779
None of these rates are showing up for me…
Stopping over in Turkey for a bit too long for my liking to stay in the airport. almost 8 hours.
should i get a hotel room or just get lounge access?
if so, anything i need to look out for with hotels? can i pay for lounge access or do i need to buy a pass or something?
thanks in advance
