@thingywingy: had an HP with AMD for years and no problems with processor per se. Battery died, hard drive died, perhaps due to the heat. A quick google on amd quad vs i3 showed someone claiming that the quad generates more heat. From what I hear Toshiba makes better machines. Ask me again after Obama (Jan 2017).

for $300, Staples has a similar laptop in its BF ad. Comes with 6 Gb RAM and 750 GB harddrive instead of 4/500. The extra RAM will help windows 8.

This might be dead. I just tried to buy it with my Amex Blue card. The price showed $259 + tax. After I entered my credit card information and hit submit, the order confirmation came back without the 64888 coupon applied and a new total that was $400+. Calling Staples to cancel. I did have my Staples Reward number entered, I’m not sure if that killed it?

Also because of the $33 instant rebate, they brought it down. I chatted with someone online from the Staples website to do the price adjustment.

@yoknee: They’re telling me this: Our price match policy states: When calculating a price match, we’ll deduct any available Staples coupons, Staples rebates (instant, easy or mail-in) and manufacturer rebates from the Staples price to arrive at a net price. And that I paid then, total, less than the current price.

anyone get that price adjustment. and is anyone having a problem scrolling with the mouse pad? if so did you fix it? if i cant scroll with the mouse pad this will be returned… please help checked a few tech sites but no fix.
