Anyone know an excellent tour company for a few days – that is geared towards families
Noodling around, the flights that are coming up in the 400 range eg iad-tlv-yyz requires 2 flights to AMS outbound and CHANGE OF AIRLINE to el al ams-tlv with 1.5 hour connection. You may need ti recheck bags and el al is not reponsolible if your flight is late. Read carefully before purchasing
where can i find the 302$ chicago tlv tornto????
@sury:
Booked! Ć¢ā¬ā $461.27 each
02/16/14 Ć¢ā¬ā 02/27/14
BOS-PHL-TLV Ć¢ā¬ā TLV-PHL-YYZ
It also showed the same price for 02/20/14-02/27/14.
Thanks Dan! just booked 6 tickets!!!!!
@challah baker: seems like the tickets started at the price posted and kept going up
There a many ways to get the fares – but a lot of them have expired.
Bascially –
Step 1) You need to go to Orbitz and select ‘Multi-City’ as the option (as opposed to ‘One Way’ or ‘Round Trip’.
Make the from city NYC or PHL or Chicago or Houston or Boston. This can prob be done on Kayak or Expedia – but Orbitz has the 24 hour cancellation policy.
Step 2) The TO City should be TLV.
If you live in the NYC area – NYC or PHL for the ‘from city’ are good bets.
All US Airway flights go through Philadelphia – so if you select anything other than PHL – there will be a stop off in Phil.
However you book it – you will have to actually start the trip from the first city.
Step 3) Make the next leg from TLV to YYZ (Toronto) or YUL (Montreal).
Someone said any Canadian city – but I have not found that to work.
The returning flight will go from Tel Aviv directly to PHL (Phili).
Because it is an international flight – you must get your luggage and go through customs.
You are then supposed to transfer to the last leg of the flight (either Toronto or Montreal) BUT – nobody can enforce that – and you can go on your merry way from Phili.
BUT – you must start off in the city where you booked from.
So you can’t book from Chicago to TLV – which has a stop off in PHili – and just skip the Chicago to Phili – that will invalidate your ticket.
So to reiterate – you can get off in Phili on the way home – but you can’t just start the flight there unless PHL was the From city on your original leg.
Good Luck
where can find the chicago tickets
just booked for 400 nyc tel aviv….ur the man
@Artie: yes try http://www.tiffanytravel.com/ 818-763-3433 Ask for Johnny.
Cant you also get off in philly for boston flight?
I tried it through boston and I got 1400+ for fares…. I must be doing something wrong and it looks like a lot of us have no clue how to do this.
@tybes:
What dates?
how can i get one of these from montreal?
Just tried chi-tlv 1/12-20 and it was 700, could the deal be dead??
will they cancel my tickets if I make 2 reservations under same name from different airports?
Must be missing some info…
Just tried: -Philadelphia-Tel Aviv-Toronto on 01/12-01/20: $598
Orbitz: $775.50
PLEASE HELP!!!
We’re sorry, the fare for that itinerary is no longer available. The fare for that trip is now $806.27 instead of 416.00
Got bwi -TLV – phl-yzz for $451. Nov 28 – dec 8!
Ord- tlv – yy still alive, nov 28th – dec 5th for $414
DAN!!!!!!!! Thanx a lot!!!!
Looking at flights from Miami and NYC, the very cheap fares are still available but the flights are 30+ hours long with multiple overnight stopovers so you need to take into account cost of hotel in Frankfurt and Charlotte or Philly.
@tybes: What atopovers do you have?
@tybes: What stopovers do you have on this fluight?
is there a flight in December from new York to tel aviv with a stop in phil?
looking for flight in the area of NY-TLV October 8th and return October 20 TLV-NY area
the flights i see stop in Frankfurt or Munich. Are both those OK stopovers as a Jew? Is one better than the other? Thanks!
can someone help me book??? trying for pesach
@jewishgirl, not possible from canada.
dead?
@Sam, alive.
@molly, ~$700
Dan.. If I booked my ticket from LGA-TLV with stopover in Philadelphia, and I live in Philly, do I have to actually go to LGA to go back to Philly, stopover for an hour en route to TLV or can I just pick up the flight in Philly?
THANK YOU!!
Booked 5 tickets at 462.00 each….YOU ARE THE MAN, DAN!!!
@Lisa, missing any leg will void the rest of your trip. Only skip the last leg.
Is it possible for Yom Kipper/ Sukkot? Thanks
I want to go to Israel anytime between December 25 and jan 17 . For the longest amount of time. How do I book it? I tried everything and it is giving me very expensive flights
thanks SO much for your time…can you help me find for pesach…tell me which route/dates to check because all I found was $858…THANK u!
@ABC: Missing any leg can be very hard to get around…..
@Lisa: You must go to LGA then back to PHI if you miss any part of you trip the rest of the trip is canceled. Therefore, you can only miss the last leg of the trip. However, after you book your trip you could call the airline and try to reason with them….(it has worked for me.)
Every time there is a threat of war we get cheap tickets. El AL/ Delta now US Airways. Hopefully United does something soon also….
@NEED HELP ASAP, for longest amount of time ~700.(Transatlantic flights are very busy around X-mas). As you move towards the end of the year the price drops to ~400, depending on airport.
@Eli, what happened to never call?
cheapest is 808 now…did i miss it??:(
Just booked flight for 614$ but bro in law claims he knows for fact that if u don’t finish the last leg of the flight ( by getting off in Philly instead iOS say Toronto) that the earlines will charge your credit card the price of full direct flight . Can s/o confirm one way or the other – thanks
Does anybody know how I change my seat? they gave us tickets far from each other. How do I pick my seats now?
Dan! You are amazing!!!
I’ve been following your deals for years and finally got through to one of these amazing Israel exclusives.
461 Round Trip! Boston – Tlv – Tor (Really Phily)
January 2nd – January 13!
Finally! A real honeymoon! Thanks!!!!!
@ dan,
Thank you so much.
Question: IĆ¢ā¬ā¢m completely flexible re dates throughout Jan. How do I check the entire month to find dates with cheapest ticket price?
IĆ¢ā¬ā¢m also flexible re any airport in northeast to get me to PHL. Kindly advise how I can check both dates and airports throughout Jan to find best deal.
Many thanks.
Booked Shabbos Chanukah earlier today for $346 from ORD. Thank you!!
ANYONE CAN U PLEASE ADVISE TRIP TO TLV NON-STOP PREFERRED FROM ANY CITY NY, NJ, DATES 11/16/13 RET 11/26/13 IY”H.
Anything going for mid February??
@GGC
I see for $745
I have a small issue. I would need to fly from Phili to Miami. The only flight is with US Air. Would it be an issue if I book a flight with US Air from Phili to Miami when I am supposed to be on a flight to Toronto? I would need to get in before night as it would be Erev Shavuot.
@NAFNAD2 U GOT FOR SUCCOS?
@isreal phonerental .com where do u get for 745 please send exact site
@Nadine: BA Avios = British Airways miles. Their points are called Avios. If you have an American Express card, you can transfer your AmEx points to British Airways. Once you are an executive member with BA, you can book American Airline tickets, using BA Avios (points). It might take a few months for your points to show up if you are opening a new mileage account, though
Orbitz claims that we cannot gather our luggage in philly on way back???? did we just do something stupid???
@areweallgettingscammed
As a rule of thumb, never ask the airline anything.
2. They are prob wrong as well.
3. You MUST get your luggage in Philly.
sorry guys….dumb orbitz clerk…us airways just confirmed u must check bags through customs in philly… š
everyone must collect their luggage and go thorugh customs in Philly, afterwards you can recheck your bags for Toronto (and enjoy Canada a low cost trip back to NY, still a great deal to Israel!) Or simply leave the airport with your luggage.
NObody is trying to scam you, they are trying to give you info to save you $$$.
You can lead a horse to water…..
To all those asking about the Suitcases in Phillips try this:
Call us air and ask if u can make a special request to take ur Suitcases out when arriving at philly because u want to put food and clothing that u want during the stopover. Usairways will inform u that all Suitcases come off and need to be rechecked.
If you trust Dan on everything else he says so then trust him on this baggage thing.
Unless Dan will have someone in Toronto snatching all the bags that went direct and he will hold it ransom and only give u up dirty laundry if you pay him with points.
@mark 96 – this has nothing to do with “war” the base fare for S class tickets simply dropped to $100, and they seem to have forgotten to add the YQ fuel surcharge. i assume united will soon follow suite and drop the base fare to $100, and by tomorrow US airways will have added YQ back.
You need to tweek a bit people! Don’t go all crazy – put some though into the ticket when you search for it
Just booked:
YYZ-TLV
TLV-BUF
12/2 – 12/16
Booked 7 tickets at $475 each
its now pricing at $620 but it’s still a killer deal.
Thank you Dan!
just spoke to usair they said the luggage will stay on the plane until toronto.
Thanx got our tickets for about 700 each
@A
We usually know better here.
Dumb guys do you want to kill the deal please S T O P calling the airline
@Dan, im grateful for all your post especially these written is step by step.details. I’m up to my third booking and will decide later what works best for us.
Any flights from Tel Aviv to the States?
@a: Incorrect. The agent is wrong. They don’t work in the luggage department and they don’t fly regularly. Trust Dan and all the other frequent flyers.
I booked my flights with a stop in Munich for one hour and 40 min is it not too risky for changing airlines?
FYI, if you use YUL (Montreal) as the termination (instead of YYZ) it also works.
YVR (Vancouver) also works, but is more expensive, ~$780, but might be a good one for people on the West Coast.
booked tickets an hour ago nyc-tlv-yyz 11/27-12/08 for 382.32 this was on orbitz with the multi-city then click under search flight “Narrow the search to my preferred airlines” u want el-al and us airways
Why is it that it is cheaper to fly from the states in to israel, but to fly out of Israel back to the states is so much more expensive?? Im looking for a one way ticket from TLV to LAX after sukot and it costs more to fly back to the us than in to Israel for the same day
@Dan: Writing “DO NOT CALL THE AIRLINE” at the top of the page might be a good idea!
how come there are no deals like this starting in Israel?
@IMHO: they conveniently leave out the fuel each time the isa war. ..
Guys, if you can’t find the deals on orbitz, look them up using ita matrix (google it!)
Put in days close to your preferred dates, choose the +/-2days option, and search. After 3 or 4 ineffectual searches on orbitz I got dates for 342$ in one try on ita matrix. Then you go back to orbitz to book with the dates and flight numbers that actually work.
Good luck! Wish I could use this too, but we always start from Israel and have yet to find this kind of deal.
Just found on Orbitz LAX TLV YUL for Pesach Apr 6 Ć¢ā¬ā Apr 27 for $793. This is with checking the box to search US/Elal as mentioned. Normal price seems ~$1600.
If anyone is still finding good rates, please post here the dates, airports, site found, price etc. Thanks so much!!
@Natalie: Not at this time.
Commenter Ć¢ā¬ÅRaphiĆ¢ā¬Ā points out that on Orbitz if you click on Ć¢ā¬ÅNarrow the search to my preferred airlinesĆ¢ā¬Ā and select El Al and USAirways that prices are actually cheaper!
THIS IS CRAZY!!!! BUT IT REALLY WORKS!!!!
Ć¢ā¬ÅNarrow the search to my preferred airlinesĆ¢ā¬Ā and select El Al and USAirways that prices are actually cheaper! That adds a stop in Amsterdam.
By the way in regards to an infant in a lap, only if you are flying alone is it an extra 145, however flying with a couple makes it just around 40 more (20 more for each ticket).
@MEIR613:
@MEIR613 can you put up the direct link for the $300 tickets or is there a way I can contact you to buy the tickets?
FYI. When departing YYZ, you will get hit with about $54 in airport taxes. If you are flying to the US, you will also get hit with about $27 in US immigration/FDA fees. You pay these on revenue tickets but you also pay them on award tickets (AA to NYC)
what about somthimg fro israel for sucot
Booked from Baltimore to philly to Amsterdam to tlv for 500! Both my stopovers are just for 1 hour. (in Amsterdam I switch from us airways to el al) Just getting nervous that its not enough time. Should I be???
When I went to cancel a flight, it said it was not refunding the $35 orbits service fee! did anyone else have this??
Wording from the PHL airport website: “Arriving international passengers who have checked bags and are connecting to flights in Philadelphia must claim their baggage after clearing U.S. Customs and Immigration and re-check their bags for connecting flights.”
See: http://www.phl.org/passengerinfo/Pages/airlines.aspx and scroll to the bottom of the page
I’m trying to go to Israel on Sunday November 24, have tried these multi-city directions and also tried November 25, orbitz says no flights are available AT ALL.
BWI-TLV-YYZ through PHL on US Air/El-Al for $434.36… Thanks for the tip!
How come I can’t figure this out, I went on Orbitz and checked multi city, put in Boston- Toronto- 2nd Flight Toronto – Tlv, nothing came up. Can someone please respond
has anybody had a hard time with the courtesy cancellation from orbitz? And is there a portion that is not refundable?
@orbitz service fee: do it over the phone, they’ll waive the fee (talking from exerience.)
A family of 5 wants to go to Israel from Dallas to TLV during the month of JAN
@moshe: They were very nice actually. They cancelled and changed for an even cheaper ticket i didnt see online
@Adina:
Because it’s going for Chanukah and it’s all booked already.
@Sarah E: nice to hear. on that note a family of 3 wants to eat out in a restaurant tonight
Hi anyone know how I can travel from Montreal YUL to TL and back to YUL or NYC or maybe even a stop over in Miami a few days?
probably cheap because theyre expecting a war
Please post any dates leaving from the NYC/BOS/BWI area that are still cheap? seems like it went up in price by a lot…..
try sep 10 to sep 23 for succos
can’t figure this out please help!! Will go any time
are all the flights with a stop in Europe?
@Bonnie: try checking off only search preferred airlines first one elal and second preferred one us airways on orbitz website then search
I cannot find any of these deals on the ITA Matrix, on Orbitz, at all. I’m trying round trip from LA to TLV, and I tried the “multi city option”, and it’s about the same.
$800 isn’t crazy, but it’s not the $500 people are saying above. I’m probably doing something wrong, and I’m totally frustrated.
so i booked tickets with an infant ewr-phi-zur-tlv, the zur-tlv leg is elal, and elal doesnt show a ticket number for infant. orbitz tells me that is bec us-air was origination and wont be an issue, can anyone confirm that i wont have issues on my elal leg back and forth?
@Devorah: A lot of the deals are gone and the ones remaining require more stops or longer layovers. Last night I watched fares from ATL go from $450 to $650 in a couple hours as they sold out.
is this still on???
@Devorah: read reply 159
i think its dead work around?
to all those still looking for flights,
there are plenty still available, check original post about fares for comments from Ralphi
remember to
1) select multi city
2) enter first flight from LGA to TLV (or similar)
3) enter return flight as TLV to YYZ
4) narrow search to only search for US airlines and ELAL (or Air France instead of ELAL)
5) book for no more than 4 passengers
I just booked for Chanukah and there are still many flights available around from $380 and up.
good luck
it is dead!!!!
Many great deals are coming up in the search but when u click on the flight every one says no longer available
its dead if you try clicking on any results it just tell you
“as flight availability can change rapidly based on traveler demand, the flight that you have selected is no longer available. Please make another selection.”
had a good itinerary 15 minutes ago. didn’t take it and just tried and it’s gone.
stuff is moving fast….
there are lots of false-positives in my experience. just found something for $425 but didn’t let me book.
Got 6 tickets for $377 this morning, need to change one passenger first name and dob, Orbitz refuses to do it. Any advice??
Anyone finding good bookable dates lately?
anything for passover the cheapest flight is 900$
@BW: @BW: what dates and cities for $377??
11/6/13-11/17/13 4 tickets nyc-tlv-yyz
11/17/13-11/27/13 2 tickets nyc-tlv-yyz
just found for 391 from NYC
@yitz g: what dates?
im looking cant find
If i need to cancel in a few months, will i get some refund?
@Judah: I get lots of false positives too. Do you think theyll come back?
Dead, I managed to get 3 flights for under $1300 different dates. Thank you dans deals
I need 4 tickets on my last leg of the trip PHL to LAX, I prefer to use miles but only direct flights are out of US Air and VA. and US Air doesn’t offer one way millage tickets, round trip only.
Any suggestions?
@Abe:
No
@moshe:
I got hit with a “Service fee” which wasn’t refunded when I canceled.
I checked online and with their chat and spoke to a rep on the phone. They all said that if there’s more than one airline involved e.g. US and Elal there’s a service fee which won’t be refunded.
Wish I had known earlier that cost me $350 š
@Yudel:
Apparently, if you call to cancel there’s a little more leeway and the reps can waive the fee, but after the fact they were adamant that they could not refund the service fee.
@Abe: No
abe, no refund.
bw, call airline, said orbitz booked wrong cam they fix it, or just show up at airport and say” what? how did they make such a mistake”.
thanks “joe” comment at 6:21! I was debating all day today and pretty sure I’m not canceling. taking family to e’y for partial regel. thanks! altho not sure I like my now much lighter wallet š
oh my these flights from PHI to Toronto are gonna be empty
Abt the service fee ask for a supervisor they refunded me after the fact by phone, even though I canceled online first. I said it never told me there was a service fee that was non refundable so how could they do that etc
is there any way anymore to get cheap flights from ny to tel aviv for pesach?
how about october… i want to go then too
is this deal still going on? It says on top it appears to be dead.
cn i check in in newark and then drive to philly so my car is parked there
TLV-JFK-TLV $719 and TLV-ORD-TLV $810 on TURKISH (TK) but no mileage accrued as this is a promotional fare “w”
JFK-TLV-JFK $897
YOU GET 2 BAGS EVEN IF YOU DON’T HAVE *GOLD VIA AEGEAN
go to tk site and leave flexible dates checked and you will get a table of fares around your selected date
You can gold the fare for a whole week without paying!!
My connecting flight from PHI to TORONTO was cancelled and then delayed by a few hours and we did not end up taking that leg of the trip. We got the miles for the flights and then they just took them away. Do you think it is possible to fight US Airways to get the miles back, esp. since they had originally cancelled that leg of the trip due to weather?
