El Al and United have nonstop flights from NYC to Tel Aviv this winter for just $999 round-trip with tax. Flights are available from mid-October until mid-March.
A sample valid date for $999 on El Al or $1,003 on United is 01/27/13-02/04/13.
Nonstop flights from LAX are also available on El Al for $1,138 (Sample date: 01/29/13-02/07/13)
Connecting flights from either city can be found for less, but this is a good price for nonstops.
Seats are of course limited as always. Check the Orbitz box to search “3 days before and after” to help find valid dates.
The El Al flights are from EWR and JFK but are in the U fare class which does not appear to earn any AAdvantage miles. Of course you can earn El Al points but those must be used on El Al only, will expire in 3 years regardless of activity, and include a mandatory fuel surcharge of hundreds of dollars when redeeming.
The United flights are only from EWR but they will earn full Mileage Plus miles which never expire if you maintain activity or have their credit card, can be used on dozens of partners airlines, and never include any fuel surcharges.

Haha! Thanks for the fair warning 😉
Dan! You didnt learn your lesson not to post “deals” from ElAl? Guys dont buy it from Elal, its a price mistake, it’s way too cheap… and why would you want to steal from a jew and make them lose millions upon millions of dollars??
/JK
Dan Im trying to purchase the ticket for end Dec and return in beginning Jan but the price is $1,268.00…
@Elal Ticket: Not all dates are available. Try playing around with the dates.
My price from Jan. to Feb. comes out to $1140
And as usual, it is not available on the dates that you might want. In general, I am finding the Elal frequent flyer/HAS Advantage to be a joke lately. Unless you reserve about a year in advance you cant get tickets, by the time they finish pounding you with fees you are really paying LOTS more points than you think and more problems…..Does everone agree?
only 1000 seats are being offered for this price and your able to combine a reg fare with the sale fare
Please remove your comment about Ona’ah, as it makes fun of halacha and is also incorrect.
Ona’ah only applies where one of the two parties is unaware of the market value, which allows them to be believed when they say, “had I known, I would never have agreed to this sale.”
In this case — unlike the famous one — there is no mistake.
@Dovid:
I’m not making fun of the halacha of ona’ah at all, but the application of it to airline tickets.

dan; do you think this will be the best non stop deal this winter to TLV or will they have lower prices comparable to Delta last winter $820?
@Dan:
Might want to clarify that if someone is wary of Ona’ah they should consult their LOR.
Dan
Will i be able to upgrade those tickets to business with United Miles
Dan, do you know if any credit cards are still offering coverage on car rentals (insurance) in Israel. I was looking at your old posts a few weeks ago, but the links all seemed to take me to one main web page. Thank you.
Dan, is the $435 elal deal from a few weeks ago still going on??? I cant find it online, but i think that is a better deal….no???
thanks Dan, you’re thebest!!!!
Here’s to hoping that OMG is kidding!
@OMG: really!!!
Do you guys think it is such a good deal for the winter or there will be better deals later on?
@omg- u BETTER be joking!!
Works from Israel to NY?
how many miles do i need for this flight
@bp: There probably will be better deals if you hold off but the better deals will probably be with a stopover in Europe.
