I just tweeted and made an $18 donation to Chabad of NYU and just a couple minutes later AMEX emailed me that I will receive a $10 statement credit within 3-5 days. Of course you can also make a $10 donation and it will cost you absolutely nothing to support their good work.
In the details you can put DansDeals.com to let them the where you’re coming from! They have no clue what’s up now, but they sure will soon 😀

Does it work for Authorized users as well?
@Clifford:
It does, but they will need their own Twitter account to sync their card with.
Dan, random Q. Did you ever receive those Gift Cards for Amazon for the StumbleUpon referrals a while ago. I still have not received mine.
I love using these for charity. Smile Train, which is based in lower Manhattan, also worked for me using this promotion.

Any idea if I could buy a Metrocard in a station below 23rd if that would work as well?
@Andrew:
It would have to process at that station as opposed to a central processing site. I’m not sure how it works, but maybe someone else will chime in?
Thank you to all the readers who have supported Chabad Serving NYU so far- it is greatly appreciated!
Have a great day!
My wife and I, our team, and all our students/alumni/friends here at Chabad at NYU thank you all!!! We run a massive project and can really really use the help. Please spread the word.
G-d bless you all!!
RK
@Dan: I checked old CC statements. While it indicates the station the Metro Card was purchased at, the zip code defaults to a central place in Brooklyn.
@Rabbi Korn:
Thanks for checking in!
@Andrew:
Thanks, won’t work then.
Thanks Dan- great post!
@mikel v:
you never lose money giving to charity
I donated $10 to Mesifta Tiferes Yerushalayim (MTJ) by calling 212-964-2830 and got a confirmation email from Amex a few minutes later.
Support MTJ at no cost to you!
Just did donation to Mesifta Tiferes Yerushalayim (MTJ) by calling 212-964-2830.
Will report back if there was a problem getting the credit.
Rabbi Korn is AMAZING and really does run a massive project! He has one of the most beautifully run chabad on campuses I have ever seen! There is such amazing achdus among all of the students it is truly inspiring work. I hope everyone does this promotion for him… Keep up your amazing shlichus Rabbi Korn!!!
How long does it take to get the email from Amex? I sent my donation around 10 minutes ago and did not receive anything yet.
Just made the donation to Chabad NYU and already got an email that it worked
@Marc:
Did you confirm that you were registered before making the donation?
Did you check your spam folder?
I made a donation to NYU Chabad but would like to spread it around as I have several linked Twitter accounts. Any other suggestions/ Are Agudas Yisroel into this?
@Nechama:
can you share with us how much you received in donations today?
@Judah: I donated to Chabad and got a confirmation within minutes but I have not had the same with the MTJ donation I made [from a diffrent Twitter synced card]. Anyone else had a issue with MTJ?
Agudas Yisroel is located in 10004 and should qualify. Their # is 212-797-9000
@Bat Sheva:
Does it show up as a pending charge?
does this work with any American express card b/c I only have the hilton one? thanks
@spe salvi: should work with any amex. I have the hilton and it definitely works with that one.
If I already did this about 2 months ago when you first posted it Dan, can I do it again? Or is this only a one time thing??
Thanx!
@M. Josef:
This has nothing to do with the previous offer, you can do this even if you did that one.
I tweeted and than donated before I got the “mention” on twitter. It’s been 24 hours and I haven’t received an email. Does this mean I won’t be reimbursed?
@Judah: I called MTJ and tried to give $10 by credit card over the phone, they said they don’t take $10 by credit card, I tried to explain this deal and that I wasn’t going to be sending them a check otherwise but the lady didn’t seem to understand. Oh well, their loss.
I did not either get anything from stmble
I used in reg. store in soho. Got email 10 mins later from amex
adorama:
seems like after 7pm the items don’t get processed until next day
@anon: i did it at 1130 last night gor email in less than 30 seconds
@anon2:
from adorama.com?
Dead.
I tweeted this just in case and I don’t live in New York. I was surprised to get an email saying I would get the credit. I thought it went through by mistake. I just checked my bill and Weight Watchers that my wife has on auto renew bills from 10010.
