Chase Freedom $200/20,000 Point Offer Linky

I’ve just received word moments ago that the 20,000 point ($200) Freedom signup offer for spending $500 is being pulled on Monday at 10am!  Chase.com is only showing an offer for 10,000 point ($100) signup offer for spending $500.

I recently was approved for a Freedom card (I had received the bonus in the past for it) and got the 20K points again and got matched to 30K points via secure message.  All 30K points posted on my statement.

The Freedom card is an integral part of the Chase Trifecta, a term I coined here last year. When you have the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card Visa, Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card World Mastercard, or Ink Bold card along with Chase Freedom and a Chase checking account you can truly maximize your spending and rewards.
You can put all spending on dining and travel that is $10 or more and all overseas spending on the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (or spending on telecom, cable, office supplies, gas, and lodging on the Ink Bold) and then put all other spending on Freedom where you earn 10 points for every transaction and and 10% bonus points for every dollar spent and 5 points per dollar in rotating categories.

Then instead of cashing Freedom points out at a penny per point you can transfer Freedom Ultimate Rewards points to Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or Ink Bold Ultimate Rewards points and from there you can transfer them into much more valuable airline or hotel points like my favorites, United or Hyatt.

Here is the 5% Freedom calendar for 2012:
Q1: Gas stations and Amazon.com
Q2: Grocery stores and movie theaters
Q3: Gas stations and restaurants
Q4: Hotels, airlines, Best Buy, and Kohl’s.

You earn 5 points per dollar on up to $1,500 of spending per quarter.

Although they are called “5% categories” you really get 5 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent which can be cashed out for 5% cash.  For $1,500 in spending you will earn at least 7,500 Ultimate Rewards points.

With Chase checking account you will be upgraded to Chase Exclusives within 3 months which gives you even more bonus points!

You will earn:
-10% bonus points on top of all base points earned.
-10 bonus points for every transaction you make.

And that’s on top of points for spending in 1% and 5% categories!

turn out the lights, the party’s over. first amex, now chase is taking away all good offers.

Dan

@bb:
Sure seems that way 🙁

As long as the Ink Bold and United card can hold out until I’m ready to MB… should have been in this game years ago.

@Dan
If I sign up for a business credit card (I know that spending more than 30% on it wont affect my personal credit score) but does applying for it affect my overall credit application status or do they keep how many times you apply for business and personal cards separate?

ben

If i just got approved for two cards (ink bold business and sapphire preferred) like a month ago, can i apply for the freedom before the bonus is gone ? and if i get declined transfer credit over from a different card ? or wait and secure message them to see if i can get it to 20k ?

Not so fast

@Dan:

It could be a temporary change.

hunch

@sammy
It will be a regular inquiry on your credit report.
It will be from a different dept so that may help down the road when speaking to recon for any cc.

” Q4: Hotels, airlines, Best Buy, and Kohl’s.”

Assuming Best Buy is still around by then…

Interesting how again you get the signing bonus! And with Chase too? Are you just lucky or do you use some “proprietary” technique? The only time I tried to get a signing bonus for the 2nd time from Chase was with the BA 100k offer last year and these guys told me to take a hike!

Question: I got the Freedom for 35k & enrolled in Exlusives. Do I get the bennies (10 plus 10%) AFTER the enrollment is complete (after 3 months…why does it take so long anyway?). If I SM them to be applied retroactively, would they give them to me?

thingywingy

Are people still getting matched or is that over?

Ava

what is “secured message” and how do you get extra miles with that?

Mimi

Hey Everybody! I have a question. I have an INK cash business card for a few years. Am I elligible for the 50K INK bonus? I hope I don’t sound like a “Dumb Blonde”!! (I am!)Thanks in advance!!

Yaks

Hey Dan,
Quick question I applied for the chase freedom through your link. I just pushed it through the rec dept just wondering if by the time I get the card chase no longer offers 20k do u think they will still match the 30k offer through a sm?

Mike

Dan, what is a FFN?

Rd

“Seems like Freedom 30K/35K matching may be dead for now based on a couple recent reports.”

+1
I got shot down today twice by phone and three times by SM 🙁
