Wondering where you can transfer your points to? Here are all of the options sorted by airline alliance! Want to see the options sorted by transfer partner instead of by airline? They’re listed that way in this DansDeals Forum thread for your reading pleasure.
Bear in mind that any airline within the same alliance can book travel for you on any other airline within that alliance and that most airlines also have non-alliance partners. The mileage rates go according to the airline where you have the miles that is booking the ticket, not the rates of the airline you are flying on. This DDF thread attempts to make heads or tails of which airlines charge fuel surcharges on award tickets, something that also is up to the airline where you have the miles that is booking the ticket.
The main 3 currencies with transfers that are favorable are American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Starwood Starpoints. Here are the cards that earn those currencies:

My experience is that MR transfers into BA imm. Is this also true with UR points?
Also, is it possible to borrow UR points?
So basically thats a post for amex and starwood… Nothing but 1:1 for UR…
You wrote: (Note: If transferred to Hilton via Hawaiian then the AMEX MR ratio will be 1K:2K and the Starwood ratio will be 20K:50K) How do I do that??
Dan
I have 15,000 continential points and 4000 American Airline points, and 3000 BMI points
As I do not plan to us these airlines in the future , what can i do with them
I use Air canada , and Delta , also starwood, and intercontinental
DAN,
Does the Chase Ink Cash business card, also allow you to accumulate points, or are you only limited to cash back ?
I read last week that kingfisher was dropped from the alliance
Hi Dan, can you transfer BA miles into starwoods/AMEX or is it only the other way around? Thanks!
@Reuven:
UR points to BA are instant as well, but I don’t think you can borrow UR points.
@FJPT:
But UR has the best transfers for United (perhaps the only airline that truly never charges any surcharges on award tickets as is part of the Star Alliance) and Hyatt, which also has an excellent award chart.
Quality>Quantity definitely applies, but that’s just wasn’t the point of this post.
@manny:
You can transfer increments of 5,000 Hawaiian miles into 10,000 Hilton points.
The problem is that officially they can’t be from points that were transferred to Hawaiian, so I have removed that language.
If anyone here has tried transferring AMEX MR or Starpoints to Hawaiian to get them to Hilton at those very favorable ratios please make a comment.
@S:
Feel free to peruse http://dansdeals.com/forums for all misc. questions.
@MEIR:
The new Ink Cash card accumulates points.
@c:
Their entrance has been delayed, thus they are still a candidate.
@steve:
General rule: Once it’s in an airline it’s stuck.
Dan, when I. Tried purchasing a ticket from emirates w miles the told me they cld only do it w emirates miles and the miles already have to be in the acct.and u mention that starwood points cld be trnsfrd?
@Anonymous:
I see your use of the question mark but I don’t see a question being asked?
At any rate, after you transfer Starpoints to Emirates you can use Emirates miles to book an award ticket, even in their first class suites with private showers, and best of all with no fuel surcharges!
can I still transfer from amex to continental/united through star alliance? or any other options?
@jack:
You can transfer from AMEX to any Star Alliance carrier listed in this post and they can book you on Continental/United.
I have a Chase Sapphire Preferred & a freedom card
how do i take the points from the freedom & transfer it into my United/continental miles account ? u mentioned u need both cards but not sure how its done?
@bucher:
When in your Ultimate Rewards account click on manage ultimate rewards and then combine points.
From here you can transfer points between your cards and transfer points to anyone else if you have their credit card number.
Hi Dan, Cam i transfer points to someone else milege account?
thanx DAN
@Uri:
Which points?
Amex MR Chase UR and Starwood to an airline account for another person. Ty
@Uri:
AMEX and Chase, yes.
Starwood depends on the airline.
Dan,
Did u ever try to transfer UR points to amtrak and then from amtrak to starwood? I would love to know if that works as u can then get a very good ratio on those points.
Dan: I have 500k amtrak can i transfer that into anything worthwhile?
Dan, I have app 50,000 starwood points and I would like to fly to israel. I am a complete novice to the whole “points transfer” business. Can you please tell me EXACTLY what I have to do to go about getting a ticket to israel

Dan, as usual you come through. Thank you. Is there a number I can call to transfer my points or does it have to be via the internet?
can i transfer freedom points to united?
Here goes, I have 110,000 points with AmEx-gold, 171,000 US.Air points. I have been hoarding my AmEx points thinking I could use them in combination with USAir… well you know where this is going? I haven’t paid attention to who US Air partnered with. How can I transfer points into US Air so I can get first class to and from Europe? I do have 64,000 Hilton points. I have booked a Cruise thru US Air, do you think that would give me any leeway with upgrades? Yes I do have the USAir MC.
i have 3000 starwood how do i transfer into aeroplan
I have a Chase Sapphire Preferred Visa card. I would like to know if I can transfer points to American airlines. If so, how?
