Sometimes you have to run the search again to get the NZ$810 price. Just start again from their home page and search NYC to TLV again.

Expedia themselves don’t charge for cancellation but they write to check with the individual carriers. Air Canada allows cancellations within 24 hours, but I’m not sure about Swiss

@Dan: That would add $200-300 to the price of each ticket, plus paying for luggage (since it wouldn’t be part of an international itinerary), making it much less of a deal.

Is it only with long layovers? I am trying to fly tlv – ny and I only see with 12 hrs in Toronto and 12 in Switzerland.

As long as you’re flying in and out of the same airport and are on a major airline you do not have to recheck your luggage. The original airline can check your bags all the way through to your final destination as long as you have a copy of your other itinerary. I’ve done this many times.

These days you only get 1 free bag to Israel. You can probably choose from the domestic baggage policy (that will come up automatically) or tell the agent you want the international baggage policy based on the bag going international when they check your bags all the way through to TLV.

Using my sample date of 12/07/11-12/20/11 I see a 2 hour layover in both directions.

Any way to check availability for more than 6 passengers?

eg: On certain dates i will only see the low price for up to 4 passengers, but if i add a fifth passenger the price goes up. I assume this means that there are only 4 sale fares available on that date.

It would depend on the fare class it books into and I don’t see that information.

Also it seems like many of the TLV-ZRH flights may be on El Al, which could earn AA miles but probably won’t earn Continental miles even though it is a Swiss codeshare.

2 browsers should work as well, but if the inventory is gone it’s always possible for 1 transaction to error out.
YMMV, sometimes even when only 1 ticket is left at a certain price the 2 browser ticket trick works and sometimes it doesn’t.

Oh! But you posted TLV – NYC dates that work… 930 NZD is still a great price if not for those crazy layovers!

Keep going back to their home page and try again. Shouldn’t take more than 3 tries or you’re doing something wrong. (Like the wrong dates or typing in JFK instead of NYC or trying to originate in TLV, etc)

I’ve gone through my list and crossed out dates that went up in price. If the new price is under NZ1,000 I also wrote the new price.

They can be cancelled within 24 hours. I used Google Voice to call New Zealand last night and the lady (very helpful) told me that although not recommended, I can usually cancel within 24 hours.

Quick question, expedia still has not charged my credit card (not even a pending) and i was just wondering if anyone’s else cc was billed yet and does anyone know how long it normally takes expedia to bill the cc?

I bought 2 tickets and made a mistake in spelling one name. I have an extra C in the last name. I am having trouble getting that corrected. I might have to pay additional charges for a name change. I am afraid of traveling and the passport name is off a letter than the ticket. Does any one have advice for me?

Those tickets are issued in New Zealand dollars, and perhaps foreign transactions take longer to appear on a credit card. If your credit card issuer does not show authorized pending transactions, you can always call in the cc company, and they will tell.
